I feel that I should preface this by saying this my third litterbox scoop. Im a new cat parent, and I have found that the plastic scoopers are SUPER difficult to clean. I use Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal, and for some reason, the urine clumps LOVE to stick to my plastic scoops. Furthermore, even the scoop with with super fine grates allowed smaller clumps (crumbles, really) to fall through. I primarily bought this scoop for the nonstick properties, but also hoped it would be an overall upgrade, since my previous scoopers were, admittedly, not the highest quality. Its a scoop! For poop! How fancy does it need to be? Well, apparently exactly this level of fancy does the trick. When I opened the package, I was immediately struck by how sturdy this scoop is. While I have one 7 pound cat, I have no doubt that a scoop this substantial could carry a LOT of litter clumps and excrement. The handle is much more ergonomically comfortable than the other scoops Ive tried, which I certainly appreciated. It also came with a scoop holder that I affixed to the side of my litter box. My cat uses an Iris top entry litter box (the large size), and the holder affixed securely and easily. Okay, so now, for the important part. The performance! I found the scoop to be functionally nonstick. When a urine clump stuck to the scoop, it would either slide off with a little gravity, or easily give with a little encouragement from the bag I was scooping into, leaving a relatively clean scoop. This was exactly what I had hoped for! This already made it a 5 star purchase in my eyes, but I had to comment on just how good at sifting and catching small clumps this is! Ive been able to get small, crumbly clumps that just fell through other scoops and it makes my perfectionist heart happy!

Doesn’t bend when using with scoopable litter. Much better than plastic.

I got the plastic version about 3 years ago, and my husband just broke it. It slowly bent and then broke where the handle meets the rest of the scoop. We have two cats, so we clean the box probably every other day or so. This scoop lasted a good long time for the price. He bought a metal one to replace it, so all the better for me.

I was looking to replace our older plastic litter scooper with something sturdier than what I could find at Target or Walmart. This is definitely it! Ive been using it for about a week now and love it. I will say that I assumed it would be your typical size, but its actually quite bigger. Not a problem though.

Everyone who has a cat should have this scooper. You will NEVER go back the plastic scoopers. This is the best thing I have ever bought for cat care, no exaggeration. Buy it! You won’t be sorry!

OMG I have had numerous litter scoops, all pretty much worthless. I was in shock the first time I used this scoop. STURDY, ERGONOMIC AND EASY TO HOLD just like noted above. I use Sustainably Yours cat litter and let me tell you the multi-cat large grain gets rock hard! This scoop easily cleaned the litter box FAST! I love it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCOOP AS ITS THE LAST ONE YOULL EVER NEED TO BUY ... ITS BULLETPROOF!

The handle was satisfactory length and I liked the scoop which seemed to get corners easily. I don’t think finish is any better than my stainless steel one and being black it doesn’t look as clean. My biggest complaint is that the ribs that go down extend to very end which makes it almost impossible to get clean. My previous one the center pieces stoped about 1/2” before end and were attached so end was flat and litter didn’t stick like this one. Probably bad description but if you look at similar ones it probably easier to see.

For me the most important feature in a litter scooper is that it can capture tiny soiled particles quickly and efficiently. This scooper does that. My litter of choice is fairly fine grained and there is nothing I hate more than leaving tiny bits in the box that need to be removed. So far this scooper is performing great. It is very sturdy, comfy to hold, well balanced, large enough to do the job quickly. For tiny bits that are too small to be caught even by this scooper, the curved front corner can be used to pick those up. Fortunately this is not necessary very often, I usually just use that method to grab foreign material that might have gotten into the box like plant burrs, hair, etc. The nonstick feature seems to help some with preventing wet material from sticking, but it is still necessary to clean that off at times. The seller suggested using Pam spray or cooking oil to lightly coat the surface of the scooper to increase the nonstick property. I may try this, but since Im in the habit of cleaning it off with spray peroxide or alcohol and a paper towel if its gets dirty, Im not sure how often I would bother with this step. I do wonder how durable the nonstick surface will be as it constantly gets used in the abrasive litter material, but time will tell. I use corn or wheat based litter which may be a little less rough on it than clay, so perhaps that will help. Since the nonstick feature is the least important to me, Im not too concerned about it. Shipping was fast and and it was great relief when it came so quickly, as I found myself unexpectedly taking in a sick kitty and forgot to grab a scoop in the rush to get everything needed. I had to ask my faithful slotted spatula to make the supreme sacrifice, which it nobly did, but of course it was not designed for the task and this made cleaning the box an even less pleasant job than it already is. My life is so much better with this quality scoop which I certainly recommend to anyone using fine grained litter.

For those using A&H Slide litter, it does stick to this metal scoop. I have cheaper plastic scoops and it does not stick. However, I do like how big/sturdy this scoop is, so will deal with the Slide litter sticking to it, but because of that, only 4 stars.
