> 24 hourI wish I hadn’t bought this, even with a steep discount. It is terrible! Takes FOREVER to clean about 1,000 square feet of our home. It supposedly has a map of the house yet it bumbles around constantly like a blind mouse. It cannot navigate very well around things like chairs and couches. Seriously, for the money it needs to be BETTER. Jobs take several hours because it can’t figure out where to go so it wastes battery driving around, no even cleaning. So it has to go back and charge before it can complete the job. I’m watching it right now and it isn’t using any kind of pattern or rhyme or reason as it bumbles around my living room. Roomba blew it with this one.

> 24 hourThe i4+ vacuums so much better than my previous Roombas (and alternatives). It runs in logical patterns (compared to the random directions others often do), covers ground better and more efficiently, and picks up more dirt/hair/stuff than any other robo-vac that ive owned. Thats the good side. The bad side is that it doesnt always run and cant be managed. Ive had 2 other Roombas that worked great with the iRobot app, but this one does not. I can setup the vacuum, add a schedule, and then it disappears from the app. It may or may not run according to the schedule, it may run more than the schedule or it may not run at all. The app will never reconnect to the vacuum after initial setup, at least not completely. It partially connects because I can (sometimes) reboot it from the app. But it doesnt maintain a history of runs, wont on-demand, cant change the schedule, etc. Ive tried 3 different wifi networks, 3 different phones, etc, nothing works reliably. This vacuum is impossible to manage & control. Im hoping Roomba support will be helpful on this and if so will adjust review accordingly, but for now, this vacuum mostly requires manually starting it.

> 24 hourFirst, full disclosure: we have 2 medium size (25 lb) dogs and yes. They shed. The i4 was our solution to cleaning up after them daily. We figured it would be a step up from our Dyson which has maybe a 15 min battery life. We were wrong. I occasionally unplug the base so I can plug something else in for an hour or two. The unit loses roughly 50% of its charge. So the solution to that is…. NEVER unplug the base/charger. It does a great job of cleaning up standard dirt/dust. But it typically just gathers up dog hair and leaves small clumps that I then have to walk around and pick up. The real kicker is, it’s maybe 5-6 months old and we suddenly get an error message. We followed the troubleshooting steps on iRobot’s site and even took the unit apart to ensure NOTHING under the hood was blocked, stuck, not functioning, etc.. We cleaned out the dust bin, replaced the air filter, ensured the cleaning module had zero obstructions, etc.. Nothing fixed the issue. So iRobot’s solution is to replace the cleaning head module for $65-$70…. despite the fact that there is NOTHING wrong with the one currently in the unit. It’s entirely possible the one we got was just defective. And that happens. But In the end, I wouldn’t recommend it for someone with dogs (or cats). It just doesn’t seem cut out for dog hair.

> 24 hourSome online review says, this is the same Vaccum as i7 or i6 except the camera. It probably is the case but the difference in performance is huge… this has gotten stuck over the edges of a cliff a couple of times (did not fall) and 1 out of 5 times it cannot find its way back home. That’s why 1 less star. Does excellent job with dog hair, sharp sucks comparatively. Battery life is superb… Lastly do not buy Amazon warehouse deals… the i6 I bought from warehouse deals has gone useless after 3 months because it won’t even start.

> 24 hourHave had i4 for a month and am disappointed. On the plus side, it does pick up good and the self-empty feature works good. on the down side, the i4 (basically the same as i3) is random in its vacuuming process. The model is not able to use smart mapping, which is a feature I discovered is available on newer i7 and up models. Smart mapping is really needed on a smart iRobot type vacuum and I wish I knew this before I purchased. I contacted support via email, which took a week to respond, which then confirmed, too bad, your model doesnt have the latest feature and we cant upgrade the firmware Ill keep using it, since it does vacuum, but I am disappointed with the poor programing and features of the i4.

> 24 hourMake home cleaning easy. The I robot rumba is a great addition to a daily cleaning routine. Easy to set up and easy to use.

> 24 hourThis is my first iRobot but third Robot-Vacuum. So far, I’m very pleased. Once it maps the house it’s off. Best part is I don’t have to remember to empty the bin.

> 24 hourThis product is probably good for the average user, however, for me, it just doesn’t work. My American Eskimo shed so much that the vacuum can’t pick it up.

> 24 hourI figured after the length of time this thing has been around most of the bugs would be worked out. Apparently not. I would not recommend if you have a lot of furniture or throw rugs. This may work well for large empty rooms but not much else. Constantly needs brushes cleaned (mostly long hair) and in the middle of certain rugs just detects a drop off and stops. Once you move it to new location near where it was it loses its ability to detect where it is and abandons the job. Cant finish 4 rooms without recharging first, even though I assume thats because of some throw rugs and bumping into things 100s of times. I can understand chairs and things that can move around and be a problem but walls and things like washers and dryers are pretty stationary. Oh well, gave it a try to see where the technology was and apparently they have a long way to go. Dont waste your money.
