> 3 dayThere is a chance that I have a defective unit. I am willing to believe that. Otherwise there is no excuse for how bad this machine is. It came scratched up without me ordering a used one in a box that was almost destroyed and was barely hanging together with loads of tape on the outside. When it comes to actually cleaning it is TERRIBLE. I have a german shepherd so I do have a lot of hair to clean up. I ordered this because I wanted something that could handle the pet hair and clean itself out when it was too full. It does neither of these things. It will barely run for 5 minutes before giving an error for a blocked brush. Now, this might not be a huge issue if it would then go and clean itself out to clear up the issue, but FOR SOME REASON instead of being able to go back to its home base it just sits wherever the error happened and you have to go fetch it. What is the point of the automatic emptying if an error that can be solved by emptying it is never utilized?????? Also when it does go back it sounds like a shopvac, but I guess theres only so much you can ask for. In summation: I thought I was ordering a new device that would mean I had to empty out my vacuum a little less often and instead what I got was a used device that has required a lot more maintenance from me than the offbrand vacuum that I have been using. I may see if a replacement will solve this issue, but if not I dont really understand the point of this device.

> 3 dayThis vacuum with the auto empty is nice. The gotcha that I would advise is make sure you have 2.4 ghz wifi. This will not work with new 5ghz It was a bear to get connected to wifi and the app will auto disconnect that requires me to restart my phone for it to work. It does a great job cleaning and the empty feature is also awesome. My son has a previous model roomba and same issues. I have a Samsung vacuum upstairs and had no connection issues. That is the most frustrating part of this. I open the app and sometimes it just works and I kick off the vacuum other times the only way to fix is to reboot my phone- I have Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra. But have found many others with same issue by googling. It took me 2 hrs to get the vacuum to connect during setup. I found the trick to finally be a factory reset on the vacuum that let it connect to.my wifi - I have both 5 and 2.4 with smart detect. I even broke those out created separate ones changed connection types it was a bear. And something surprising for how long they have been around - didnt face any connection issue setting my Samsung vacuum on same connections though

> 3 dayI figured after the length of time this thing has been around most of the bugs would be worked out. Apparently not. I would not recommend if you have a lot of furniture or throw rugs. This may work well for large empty rooms but not much else. Constantly needs brushes cleaned (mostly long hair) and in the middle of certain rugs just detects a drop off and stops. Once you move it to new location near where it was it loses its ability to detect where it is and abandons the job. Cant finish 4 rooms without recharging first, even though I assume thats because of some throw rugs and bumping into things 100s of times. I can understand chairs and things that can move around and be a problem but walls and things like washers and dryers are pretty stationary. Oh well, gave it a try to see where the technology was and apparently they have a long way to go. Dont waste your money.

> 3 dayThis is the fourth Roomba I have purchased. This is likely the last Roomba I will ever purchase. I bought it for the self-emptying feature so that I didnt have to remember to empty the bin every night. I also liked having a smart map so that I could schedule it to clean different areas of the house each day. The battery life was also longer than the previous robot, so, between scheduling smaller areas and the extended battery life, it would fun for a much shorter period each day. Well, it all sounded great until it came to actually performing. Some days it would back off the platform while turning get stuck--no cleaning those days. Other days it would report that it was stuck. When I came home it would be sitting in the middle of a room with no obstacles anywhere close. Other (many) days it would report that it had rebooted and just be sitting with its light blinking. Most of those days it would report an error with multiple options to clear. I tried all of them to no avail. I bought the vacuum to be a timesaver, not to spend my time troubleshooting a buggy, unstable system. iRobot, Ive enjoyed your products for over a decade. If this is the best you can produce now, Im afraid we will have to part ways.

> 3 dayWhen my husband told me that he ordered this, I was skeptical. However, after not having to sweep my floor on my own for over a week, I am sold. It does not tear up my rugs, it picks up the smallest of particles. The only thing that has been complained about was by our little who got mad it sucked up some of his coins off his floor. :) Overall, it is a wonderful addition to my household and I would purchase again.

> 3 dayWe use this unit in our upstairs with 3 carpeted bedrooms sitting area. I gave it a 3 on the noise level because it is LOUD when it empties. It is reasonably quiet while vacuuming. Battery life is not great, but given all the moving parts, this is probably expected for the size of the area it has to clean. As other comments indicate, it will get hung up on area rugs. I would not recommend it if area rugs have tassles or fringe, or are particularly thick. I bought another one from a big box retailer. Slightly different model but works the same and has the same parts. Ive had no problems with connectivity, or reporting with either. The mapping feature works great and keeps it from taking a dive off the steps.

Greater than one weekI purchased this and then returned it. The noise level was so loud that my kids woke up from it.... The suction wasnt great and therefore lots of dirt stayed left over since the brush kept on pushing it away in places it already passed.. and it kept on running back to the base for charging. My house isnt so big.... So instead of having to pick everything up and putting the chairs on the table to make place for the vacuum cleaner, I just bought a regular hand held which takes a few minutes instead of a few hours and my house is cleaner!

11-06-2025This product is probably good for the average user, however, for me, it just doesn’t work. My American Eskimo shed so much that the vacuum can’t pick it up.
