Have had i4 for a month and am disappointed. On the plus side, it does pick up good and the self-empty feature works good. on the down side, the i4 (basically the same as i3) is random in its vacuuming process. The model is not able to use smart mapping, which is a feature I discovered is available on newer i7 and up models. Smart mapping is really needed on a smart iRobot type vacuum and I wish I knew this before I purchased. I contacted support via email, which took a week to respond, which then confirmed, too bad, your model doesnt have the latest feature and we cant upgrade the firmware Ill keep using it, since it does vacuum, but I am disappointed with the poor programing and features of the i4.

We, or rather I, named our robot Sancho Villa not sure why, it was just the name that popped in my head when prompted by the app. We have two dogs, one of which is a golden retriever, and two young kids and travertine tile floors throughout most of the home. The robot does a great job of keeping the floors relatively clean, which if you know anything about golden (or young kids) is no small feat. It’s a bit loud and takes quite awhile to vacuum the entire home but that’s a petty complaint. So far, so good on the mapping and being able to tell the robot to vacuum the kitchen or whatever other room. (FYI - you can designate/name rooms in the app). Last tip, if you get an error notification from the app and you need to pick up your robot, try to put it back as close to where you picked it up as possible or your robot will get lost and meander aimlessly through the house trying to figure out where it’s at. Expensive but worth it. Oh….buy extra vacuum bags and side brushes right away. Would recommend the factory replacement rather than 3rd party stuff.

Generally Im a fan of Roombas. This isnt our first one, but an upgrade to an older model which has been reassigned to a different space in the house. This one caused some real setup headaches, unlike my prior Roombas. If you search Roomba i4 problems with Eero wifi youll see multiple discussions (Reddit, etc.) where this model just DOES NOT WORK with Eero 6. Some people have figured out workarounds by manually changing network settings, but that didnt work for me. Ultimately, I set up a separate hotspot for this Roomba - otherwise it would not connect to my Eero and thus wouldnt complete setup in the iRobot app. Overall, the setup process was fiddly and full of trial and error. Reminded me a lot of what it was like to configure new PC hardware 30+ years ago. And thats not a compliment.

I can control it from the app which is perfect. I have it for a pet that is staying for a few days and its cleaning up after him each day. its been a pleasure to have in my home. Noise level could be a little more lower, however, it is a vacuum at the end of the day so you should expect to hear it. The dog is afraid of it. lol

Roomba i4+ purchased off the Treasure truck listing. So far, a little disappointing. First off, to get it so sync up with the app - ALMOST impossible. Was just about to pack it up to return it and all of a sudden it linked. Not a great start. It did link up with Alexa quickly. A couple other notes, you can only map ONLY ONE room. Holy cow. Really? Thats disappointing. You can name all kinds of rooms, but you only save ONE room. Also, when it returned to the home base it dumped a bunch of crap that it had gathered up at the bottom of the ramp it sits on. It seems to do a fairly good job picking stuff up. It also did really well getting under things without getting stuck, over minor cords and thinner carpets. You do need to pick up shoes, etc. You do need to clear the side brush of human hair. The self emptying part seems to work fairly well, unless that is the reason it dumped stuff at the base .. (?) Then there is the part that you have to look up a use manual. Nothing comes with it. Not even how to empty the base! We use Youtube. Overall, the price was good. But youll need a lot of patience and ability (understanding) about how to get the manual or instruction on how to use. I am on the fence. Not sure I can recommend it just yet. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. I figured after the length of time this thing has been around most of the bugs would be worked out. Apparently not. I would not recommend if you have a lot of furniture or throw rugs. This may work well for large empty rooms but not much else. Constantly needs brushes cleaned (mostly long hair) and in the middle of certain rugs just detects a drop off and stops. Once you move it to new location near where it was it loses its ability to detect where it is and abandons the job. Cant finish 4 rooms without recharging first, even though I assume thats because of some throw rugs and bumping into things 100s of times. I can understand chairs and things that can move around and be a problem but walls and things like washers and dryers are pretty stationary. Oh well, gave it a try to see where the technology was and apparently they have a long way to go. Dont waste your money.

The roomba itself is great. Cleans beautifully but the base never worked. Called customer service after 2 hours talking she said I needed a new base but I got a new collection bin that goes on the roomba. I put it on anyway and it didnt fix anything. So I called a couple more times and kept getting disconnected on so I just bought a new base and it works great so finally after a year I got to hear it empty itself. Ive even changed the vacuum bag because it was full of dog hair which was why I got it. Cost me a couple hundred more but now it works great I just wish they would have listened to me and now I dont know what to do worth the base that never worked.

Took a few tries to get the mapping done right and set it up but wow this is what we expected when roombas first came out. We bought this and the the M6 wet mop and our floors are now spots less.

I dont know why I allowed myself to go so long without having a Roomba - seriously. The machine itself is the perfect size to go under beds, chairs, and couches but strong enough to capture even the tiniest granular of dirt. I have three cats and the Roomba (unintentionally) provides so much entertainment for them - although they dont engage with the vacuum, they enjoy watching it seamlessly maneuver around the apartment. The docking station is a game-changer and increases the automation and hands-off nature of the product. It cleans very well, however I dont like that I cannot manipulate the map drawn as I do have some areas that Id prefer the Roomba not to tread into. I have a moderately sized apartment and am not too bothered by this, but if you have a larger space it might be something to think about.

Now the Roomba i4plus EVO robot vacuum is smarter than ever, learning and mapping your home room-by-room so it can clean the room you want, when you want—with 10x the Power-Lifting Suction and Premium 3-Stage Cleaning System. Powered by iRobot OS, it stays one step ahead of everyday messes, by learning your life and suggesting cleaning schedules—to clean when you’re out enjoying life. On-demand cleaning is only a command away, with Google Assistant and Alexa compatibility that let you direct your robot to messes right when they happen. With Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, Roomba will return itself to the base when the bin is full, automatically empty and resume cleaning, so you don’t have to think about emptying the bin for months at a time. (Compared to the Roomba 600 series cleaning system).
