> 24 hourI do a lot of sewing for my small business and when my trusty Necchi Omega needed service, I needed a backup machine. This Janome HD 3000 in black, had the same exact features as my Necchi. The controls were in even in same place so I knew there would be no time wasted getting this machine up in running. It sews beautifully, it’s sturdy, it can handle thick fabrics, and I love it. What’s even better is it uses a standard foot pedal unlike my Necchi which uses a special order foot pedal. This is now my main machine.

> 24 hourThis is a non-electronic basic machine. Doesnt like to sew thick material. Not suitable for quilting. I returned it and purchased a machine to handle quilting.

> 24 hourThis machine is for sure heavy duty! I am impressed with the consistent stitch. My company Janeyandnell.com makes handmade handbags. I consistently switch from cloth to leather stitching in one project. This machine will not skip a stitch or loose the stitch quality sewing from thin material to 4 layers of soft leather! I keep my thread tension slightly above 4 for consistent tight stitch. I also use universal thread for continued use with all materials. I do not need a thicker thread for leather because of the machine quality. The value for this machine is amazing! Lots of extra feet and gadgets to sew all your products or hobbies. I have a Juki for additional stitching and embroidery. Honestly use this machine more for the quality of a consistent stitch. I also rarely have to change needles. I Have used the same universal needle that came with the machine for multiple projects and thickness of material. I highly recommend this machine for all cloth and leather/purse quality projects. It is a work horse for sure!

> 24 hourIm very happy with this purchase. Its a very sturdy machine and I feel confident it will last a long time. My old, lower-quality machine was throwing fits when I sewed cloth masks (sometimes 10 layers on the edges). This beauty powers through with no fuss. It does take a minute to get used to manually rolling the needle up if youre used to a digital machine. My only complaint is that its a little hard to control the speed. She really wants to zoom through straight lines, but I have a little trouble getting her to slow down for careful curves.

> 24 hourAfter getting knee deep in this Art Form, I was looking for a Machine that is a bit more sturdier and Heavy Duty than the Singer I started working with. The Singer is a great beginners Machine and will always have her on hand. During my research, I was checking out all of the brands, reviews and specs. I had talked with Sewing Machine Tech and during discussion, we had talked about the Jenome brand and that I liked of what I seen. He stated that I would not be disappointed with any Jenome Machine. I have about 6 to 7 hours on her and, I am so impressed ! The Bobbin Winder is smooth as a Babys Behind. Very quiet yet very Powerful. I would Highly Recommend this Machine for anyone getting into this Art ! I am just getting started here !

> 24 hourDisclaimer: This was purchased as a Thanksgiving gift to my wife, a veteran quilter - I wrote the review based on her observations and ratings. The Janome machine is made in Canada. It is a heavy duty unit, suitable for daily use. Yet, being mechanical (no internal computer) it is less likely to require frequent maintenance. A carrying case and special bundle of accessories were included in the price ~ a good value, compared to other researched machines. Since operation was totally different than her old sewing machine, my wife really appreciated the complete and well written instruction manual, including step by step procedures, with clear diagrams and drawings (exception: threader unit - last item in review). The machine runs quietly, fabric feeds very steadily, with almost no vibration. The unit came with many extras, including a box of quilting accessories and a sturdy integral carrying case. The bobbin case is clear, making it easy to judge thread use. Reverse button is handy, effective, and easy to use. Pressure foot attachment is a metal bar, making it easier to change and much more secure than plastics on other machines. This Janome unit offers eighteen different stitches. Selection is easy. Results are uniform and reliable. Accessory storage box is on the front of the machine, and slides off easily ~ i.e. when sewing pantlegs, etc. My wifes only negative comment was The needle threader sure seems nifty, but Im darned if I can figure how to use it. (were working on this one). ~ Dave Buckley ~ as instructed by Beth Buckley who was off quilting busily.

> 24 hourI received my machine today, and right out of the box, the feed dogs would not rise. (I had lowered them, and followed the instructions on the manual, but they would not come back up.) I had to remove the needle, the presser foot, the needle plate, the bobbin cover, bobbin, bobbin holder, and manually raise the feed dogs. Additionally, with the automatic needle threader in place, it is nearly impossible to remove the needle plate. I am not a happy camper. I tried to get support. The support button here on Amazon has a website that I cannot access without a security code. The International website had a support button that never submits a report. I am not a happy camper. I really want to love this machine, but Im having troubles even getting to know it or finding someone who cares that it might work.
