Id recommend this Kester solder as it gets the job done, brand reputation is still there, cant beat it!

Great solder, I usually have problems with flow but this one does the job nicely and there is no need to add extra flux like with some other solders I have used before.

We needed a lower melt temp solder for art projects. My daughter is using it to join steel horse shoe nails to make christmas ornaments. Works great. Flows out well and has a good strong bond. Little pricey but it works!

I decided to up grade my solder station to the best I could after my make shift do soldering iron couldnt provide enough heat to make a good solder joint. Kester solder has always done well for me at work and I prefer the leaded variety because once it is soldered Ive never had a problem with it. Ive been soldering on and off for 45 years and now with new solder that is lead free it brings to our attention not to breath the fumes fromt he solder for health reasons. I usually have a fan running to vent any fumes when Im inside soldering. The lead free versions of all lead free solder joints decay over time so I prefer to do the job once rather than once every 20 years. Having to resolder the connectors in the computer of our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee about four years ago reminded me of this issue.
