Kingston 480GB A400 SATA 3 2.5 Internal SSD SA400S37/480G - HDD Replacement for Increase Performance

Used to replace a HDD in an older MacBook Pro. Replacement was easy (look up YouTube) and it changes completely how the laptop reacts. Storage is not that much, but for the price its a convenient trade-off from a traditional HDD.

Bought this just to run my Win10 and a couple small games I play frequently. Just did a fresh install of Win10 no issues with the install or my BIOS recognizing it. Worked well was getting around 400GB/s read and 300Gb/s write for about 6 weeks then started to have issues where the computer would become unresponsive for 2-3 minutes, this problem will happen once every 3 hours sometimes twice an hour. Ran Crystal Benchmark then right after my computer became unresponsive and I was getting 150kb/s read and write. The drive wasnt overheating tried other SATA cables the unresponsiveness kept happening RAM,CPU, and GPU were operating fine. Swapped back to my old HDD and no issues since. Buying a new SSD but going with a different brand.

Replaced the original hard drive on a Dell. System is much faster now. Pretty easy to image copy once you get the hang of it.

i got a faulty one did a return request and Amazon randomly sent me new one and a return paperwork. i was honestly surprised they sent a new one and will refund once i drop faulty one at ups. i love Amazon prime they really go above and beyond they have to!!! no lie they really do more than they should. its worth the money

I replaced the HDD in a Gateway SX2802 using the suggested Reflect by Macrium free cloning software. This change alone really sped up the system performance and now this 9 year old machine on a Core 2 quad processor is running Windows 10 very fast for a $25 upgrade. HIGHLY recommended.

Bring my Dell Inspiron 15 back to life! It is faster than before. And it is so light that I feel it is only a little plastic box.

Was fairly easy to install and good capacity for amount paid.

Everything about this drive is pretty good except for the writing speed. I dont understand why but whenever I write more than 5 gigabytes at a time on the SSD it slows down to a crawl. It starts at a modest speed of 300 MB/s for the first few gigabyte writes then slows down to less than 80 MB/s after. I could imagine that for most people this would be reasonable, since they are not writing multi-gigabytes of data everyday. However its still pretty frustrating that just installing a new game or even downloading multiple videos could cause the system to come to a halt, due to the cache memory running out.
