Greater than one weekHighly flexible, thick copper wire. The gauge is accurate. The jacket is very soft yet doesnt nick or peel easily unless you are trying to strip the ends. KnuKonceptz has a new fan here. Ive read reviews about other brands which skimp on copper gauge size and quality. This cable does no such thing. Its true 12 gauge, all pure copper, with dozens of fine copper strands. Bending this wire is extremely easy. I cant think of any situation where the flexibility of this stuff would even remotely be an issue. With all the fraudulent claims out there from competitors about gauge size, I will be buying from KnuKonceptz from now on, resting easy knowing Im getting what I paid for.

I now have three speaker systems: HSU 15 VTF with latest Hsu HB-1 Mk2 satellites; RTR EV-15 (designed by Roy Allison and Hsu - flattest system ever produced by BIC); and JBL ES90. Each tested in pairs in stereo mode. Results were enhanced balance, smoothness, detail and better high end. Before running the tests, I positioned the speakers according to the Wilson Positioning Method, which I found to yield the best real world results. Cable lengths were 10 and 17 ft. respectively.

Plain and Simple Specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC
These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge
Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier"s life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Speaker Wire is often written as 12-2 or 12/2. This means 12 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 12 gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.
- Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 12 Gauge
Oxygen Free Copper - The standard in audio
- Quality cables use quality materials. Oxygen Free Copper is copper of at least 4n purity. That means the conductor must be at least 99.99% copper.
- Copper speaker wire provides lower resistance than similar sized CCA cable. This means improved frequency response.
