Only used it once but it is a heavy built and easy to use. Better than the cheap test lights I heavy and a good value for the money.

This is a great tool and very easy to use and read. I use it tracing hot wires in extensive 12 volt wiring systems on boats and it works perfectly. The only thing I would add or change would be to have both a large size clip on the wire end as well as the option to replace it with a smaller one for those small negative feed panels, but it still works as I just use a smaller lead from the clip. I would recommend it as part of any tool box.

does the job if you are reading between 3-48v! simply connect to a negative battery terminal. very fine metal point reader leading to easy access to hard to reach places, only down fall is the digital display that displays the volts is a little hard to read at certain angles!

I started working on RVs so this tool is extremely handy with the variety of voltage / batteries we work on. I seen another tech using his high dollar (rhymes with strap on) tester. This tester does the same job at a very small fraction of the cost! Works good, lasts long time!

First off - this unit seems to do EXACTLY what it says it does. My rating is probably unfair, but here goes. I bought this to chase a battery drain on my Honda side-by-side. The problem is that it is useless for that task. It states in the description and all over the tool that it works for 3-48 volts. I assumed (yes, I know - my own fault) that it would just be much dimmer with lower voltage loss. NO! It does not light up AT ALL until you get at least 3 volts in it. My voltage loss is probably less than 1 volt and this tool doesnt help. I should have bought a very simple test light that glows when ANY voltage runs through it. I can use the meter, but this would have been much easier to use by myself.

I was trying to tap into my low voltage (12V) landscape lighting with my low voltage (12V) step RGB LED lighting with no luck. Used this tool to check the voltage at the splice and although it would light up I couldnt get a digital readout of the voltage. Was getting rather frustrated that what I thought was a really cool tool was DOA. Took it out to the KTM motorcycle & it worked perfect. Hmmmmmm. Turned out to be operator error. The magnetic transformer puts out 12 VAC. The tool only reads 12 VDC. I did think it was interesting to note the tool would illuminate when exposed to AC voltage. It just wont give you a digital readout. Bottom line......Great Tester! Highly recommend.
