All about the pannel lottery is all I can say. Got this during christmas for $350. Best deal Ive ever seen and couldnt pass it up, after almost a week I reccived it well packed, there are NO IMPERFECTIONS at all. Lg ultragear lineup has really stepped its game up the past few years, Id say this monitor is just about as good as you can get for the price, even off brand competitors are struggling to keep up nowadays due to samsung, benQ and LGs wonderful prices. 5 stars for a powerful 2 k monitor. Works on pc xbox ps4 ect . Works WONDERFUL for playing classic retro games from your ps1 or ps2.

the picture is amazing. this is my first IPS monitor and i bought it not even having a nvidia card. the ghosting i was getting on my asus tuf 32 is almost non existent on this one using out of the box settings. i havent even touched the settings. the inputs on the back make it hard to wall mount so i had to get an angled DP adapter. ive only been using it for about an hour now but it seems like the sides are pushed back. i dont know if this is a possible return issue or if its simply coming from someone who has been using curved monitors for a long time.

If you want good contrast and brightness, look elsewhere. I will be passing this monitor down to someone else. I love the 180hz, but its not worth the drop in brightness and contrast. It also has no curve to it and a monitor of this size MUST have a slight curve to it or it looks funny and distorted. The curve should be small, not Samsung level curve though. I hope LG reads this.

Its a pretty solid monitor for the price. I got it for $300 and for that price, its absolutely perfect. For $500, it is nearly perfect. I needed to do some basic tuning to my liking but it looked good out of the box. It was easy to set up, easy to use, looks great, super smooth, and works well. Ive played some games on it and it doesnt have any issues with screen tearing or any other graphical issues. For content consumption, it is great. For content creation, I wouldnt use it. Its tuned well but not great out of the box. The IPS technology in this panel looks great, the refresh rate is super smooth, brightness is solid, colors look great. I have no major complaints. I have three total minor complaints. The first complaint is that the stand is a little plasticky and for $500, I would have liked a marginally more solid stand. It has tilt, height, and pivot which is great, though. At $500, I dont expect color tuning, but I also wasnt expecting to do 20 minutes of tuning to make it look to my liking. But it wasnt bad, it looked good just not perfect to me. My final complaint is the contrast ratio is average, nothing special. For the price, I would have liked a slightly better contrast ratio, comparing it to other monitors in its class. Overall, a really solid monitor for $500, but on sale this monitor is dang near perfect.

Just an awesome monitor for the price and its plenty big! Right out of the box settings were great, I lowered the Brightness by 10 points. I would buy again! Thank you.

IPS just doesnt have the contrast ratio to put up with in moody movies or scary scenes BUT otherwise this monitor is pretty brilliant. Its my 1st IPS screen, other than that Ive had many others like it. I love how the viewing angle means the top and bottom of the screen are always the same. So many VA and TN panels have that viewing angle where you can never get the top bright enough without washing out the bottom. Now everything at the top of every page is perfectly colored like the rest of the screen. Which itself is clear, large, stays clear under high movement in the right settings. Notable gripes: The power cord barely reaches the floor, depending on your desk. Best to have an under-table power strip on the back of your desk for this one, but the plug is also a big wall wart (with the prongs directly on the wart) which is such an ancient design choice I went digging for extension cables I used to use with my Genesis/32X/Sega CD setup from when I was a kid. But thats literally the worst part of experiencing this monitor so only one star off.

This is a very good monitor. No dead pixels, brighter and much better colors than my two Costco 32 QHD Ultragear alternative, mine has very little lightbleed and IPS glow. I am not sure if this is really new, mine came with no protective plastic or sleeve around the monitor and fingerprints on the screen and edges but all the peripherals were wrapped as factory new.

Comparing to my older 27GL850, this monitor is larger and faster; with an easy (one button push) overclocking to 180 Hz. Of course, with increased size pixel density is lower. What remains same is how great picture quality is out of the box - seems to be an LG thing. Before this one, I tried the MSI MAG274QRF-QD (another highly-rated monitor), and its picture quality was quite bad initially, required a lot of calibrating to remove over-sharpening and oversaturation. Aside from minor backlight bleeding, so far there is no complains about the panel: no dead pixels or other obvious defects. Hope it remains this way. Big thanks to Tim from Hardware Unboxed for the review of 27GP850 (27 version).
