Lixit Chinchilla Dust (27oz)

I guess this is what dust is supposed to be like, but I dont like it: After our gerbils roll around in it, and dig and kick and perform their gerbil antics, weve got fine dust all over the living room (where the gerbils live). So, for our use, bathing sand (not dust) is a far better option: It works just as well, and the rodents like it just as much (if not more). We much prefer Supreme Tiny Friends Farm Chinchilla Bathing Sand, also sold by Amazon, and much less expensive. But, Im no expert, and maybe this superfine dust is what chinchilla owners want; the other positive reviews would seem to indicate that. For our use, however, it is way too fine and way too messy.

Do not purchase this dust. The packaging is deceptive, as it looks like the Blue Cloud dust label — which is no longer made. It’s caused respiratory distress for both myself and my chinchilla. She developed eye irritation and started sneezing almost immediately. This turned into a sinus infection. Thankfully she’s much better now. The dust gets everywhere - it’s shiny, so you see it glistening - it’s given me terrible hives.

This is NOT Blue Cloud Dust, it is Blue Beauty Dust. This dust contains very tiny pieces of glass that can irritate your chinchillas eyes. I would not recommend it. They are advertising a product they dont deliver.

The ENTIRE room I allowed my pet to bath in is covered in dust. We have a fan with an air filter and it has completely clogged it up. Sitting in the room while the dustbath is being used caused my husband and I to have coughing fit. This cant be good for human (or animal) respiratory health.

As the primary housekeeper of our family, I must be nuts for purchasing dust. But the chinch is worth it. Robert Paulson loves this stuff. I mix in a little baking soda just to help him to stay fresh.

Chinchilla loves this bath!!! Yes there is a huge difference. Will never use another brand. Henrys fluffy coat sparkles after his bath!!!

This was good for the price and I’ll probably buy it again but I found it to be one of the “dustier” dust baths I’ve tried.
