This headset falls into the middle of the low-end headset and middle-end headset spectrum in a way thats particularly unsatisfying. Audio volume and quality varies with a tininess that grates, especially if youre trying to balance audio from several other people in a call. The microphone often loses volume, making it difficult to be heard, and the mic desperately needs a windscreen/pop filter which the headset doesnt come with. It plays a particularly loud song when the battery is getting low, and only does so as it approaches 1-2% battery. The issues everyone else has mentioned about the PC vs. Console dongle and difficulties with installation mean youll spend about half an hour actually installing what is intended to be a plug and play device. And finally, the software the developer recommends for customizing your experience with the device doesnt support this model on Windows.

This was the first Astro headset I tried. It looks great and sounds good. The app is great and the mic monitoring is the absolute best I’ve found in a PS5 headset. However, that’s where the positives end. It’s too small for my head, and the flexible mic is weird and gets in the way far too often. If you’re trying to eat something or take a drink, the mic sits super close to your mouth and there is no adjustment other than taking off the headset. I’ve experienced the same issue with the sound and mic randomly going quiet and then back to loud again. It typically happens after I mute and unmute my mic. The buttons (especially the volume joystick) feel cheap and are not easy to use. If I kept this headset, I feel like that would be the first to break and it’s kind of important. There’s lots to like, and lots to not like. If sound quality and mic monitoring are important to you, it’s at least worth a try. I’ll be returning it, but the mic monitoring alone was almost worth it.

Got this for my PC as Id seen it was on sale and highly recommended. I dont understand the high reviews for this product. The sound quality is no different from the 15$ wired headset this was replacing. The mic is okay. Definitely dont hear everything around me when playing games as most people seem to swear happens. I am guessing most of these reviews are just hype. The padding is foam/mesh, which makes my head sweat and i do not like it. It is nice that I can get up and do things with them on, but the sound on this headset is definitely not high quality. The equalizer settings all sound the same-no difference in audio quality so not sure why thats even a feature. Theres no way to tell when youve turned the dial all the way up or down as it doesnt have a stop. Well, youll know its at max because despite turning the dial up the audio stays the same. Even at max I still have to adjust the sound mixer on Windows to get the volume I want. Honestly this headset is not worth the price. I plan to return this and find a cheaper one.

Sound is 7/10. The fit is pretty good and comfortable. I would recommend for any beginner gamer looking for a decent headset.

I got the Star Wars edition because I thought the white version was a bit cringe. Comes in a nice box with a Star Wars edition protective case that zips! Was a TB recon 500 user and it puts the thing to absolute shame. I can hear footsteps more clearly while playing R6 Siege! Headset is very comfortable and easy to use. Earphones are padded with a leather type feel. Has BT capabilities which is a bonus. Mic is removable too If your just using it for music. MY ONLY complaint is where the mic itself rests. It’s almost too close to my mouth and won’t really adjust.

Fits nice. Would be better to add more range to fit people with larger heads, but sound is great, however the mic wont operate correctly but a restart of the Xbox fixes it right up. So its unclear if its the headset or the Xbox thats being annoying. 8/10

Im going to start off with the two redeeming qualities of this headset before I get to the many reasons I will be returning it. The sound quality despite it not having surround sound capabilities is very nice and it is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time (10+hrs). Now, the microphone is extremely quiet and even with software to add gain and the device volume on my PC turned all the way up people still have trouble hearing me and sometimes the bug that makes you louder after you mute and unmute is enough for me to be able to communicate and sometimes it isnt. The boom microphones position doesnt stay in one place when set and requires constantly being moved so it doesnt sit on your face or at least directly under your nose. Youd think that having an app on your phone for fine tuning wouldnt be bad but not having the option for PC also just adds extra problems when the headset just decides to disconnect from your phone (which no other blue-tooth device that I own does) OR your microphone just randomly mutes itself with no reliable way to unmute it. Muting itself is rare but still unacceptable and not only does it mute but also randomly stops making sound while still being turned on and sending a microphone signal AND if you think turning it on and back off again will solve it as it does with a lot of things SOMETIMES IT WONT TURN OFF OR BACK ON and sometimes when you unplug the USB and plug it back in the microphone still wont work and I dont mean not work for specific programs I mean in windows devices where it only shows up because it is connected there will be no sound level for the microphone and Ive yelled directly into it just to be sure it wasnt just so low it wasnt picking it up. Those are the reasons I am returning this headset but they arent even the only problems, just the ones that make it unusable and unreliable on a constant basis and when reaching out to Amazon I was told to contact Astro and Astro has not sent a single email about it other than the automated email confirming that the support ticket had been made and I have waited twice the amount of time that they claim to respond in and there has been no mention of higher than usual requests to let anyone know that their response time may take longer. The other problems are that it isnt surround sound which Id expect from a headset this expensive, while using the microphone on my phone it wont be usable on my PC, a bug that decreases the headsets volume a large amount when changing the volume on my phone up or down but increases the volume by the same large amount when changing the volume directly on the headset so you need to play with changing them both for your desired volume which is really annoying to do when answering calls, and the loud sounds it makes when it turns on, off, connects, or disconnects from anything that you cant control the volume of but when the battery levels are low (rare as that may be) the sound indicating that isnt as loud, and the range for both blue-tooth and USB connection could stand to be a bit longer but that is probably the least of complaints to have with the plethora of problems above.

I liked that I’m able to use a headset without having to use wires. Just plug the usb receiver into the console or pc. Press the small button to change it on Xbox or pc. Green is for Xbox and white is for pc.
