you need extra tools to fix the base to the working bench as the base is not heavy enough.

First Helping Hands device I have ever owned...So easy to use. Great product. If there was one thing that I could change it would be to have a vice that opens just a bit further to accommodate larger PC boards. Very happy with my purchase!!!

I purchased another helping hand with magnified light and it is junk compared to this one. Heavy, well made, and you can remove what you dont need. Base is thin enought that it doesnt get in the way when you have limited space like I do. Light is nice and bright. You can place clips where you want, and they hold. Vice is nice to have, again, for those with limited space. Would highly recommend.

Product is the best helping hands product Ive ever used. But be advised, there are items listed in the details that are not what youll receive. For instance, it stated six board pillars , but I only received (4) four of them. It stated 2 long, and 3 short flex arms with alligator clips...but I received (4) four of the long ones but NO short ones. I got an extra alligator clip and screw as if I was supposed to get another arm. Like I said, just minor things, but this one was a bit pricey, so they really should get it right. Id especially have liked a couple of the shorter arms.

update: i finally received a kit without anything missing. now this is a great matte baseplate with a slight texture to it. there are tiny holes on either side of the plate and a muted etched logo - these are of no use. unlike other manufacturers, the etched logo is toned down and doesnt grab your attention, which is better than other ones i have seen. i flipped it so the logo is facing down when i installed the rubber feet so i have a blank surface. the vice grip was a bit disappointing because it does not tilt at an angle as i had originally thought. it swivels horizontally, keeping circuit boards flat, & does not tilt. if this is an important feature to you then dont expect it with this kit. you may need to get it separately or with another kit. the light is a bit dimmer than expected but it is still usable. being usb you can power this with any powerbank. it would be nice if it came with four short arms, since it seems no one sells them currently in a pair. yet, the longer 12 inch arms are easy to find anywhere. other than these small, minor issues, this is a great helping hands kit, if all the parts are there. i would supplement this with a kit with a smaller baseplate so you have options of what to bring when travelling. lastly, it came with a second pack of 5 alligator clips and screws i dont really need + a spare alligator clip and screw in the pack that i did open. these are for the long flexible arms. changing my review to 4 stars. original review: baseplate is missing from the box! wasting time exchanging it for one with all the pieces.

So far the device is sturdy abs easy to use. It does helps freeing your hands to make sure you can do other stuff to get the job done

This set consists of a metal plate and several different kinds of tool helpers that stick to it magnetically, and that can be taken off and moved around. There are 4 little grippers, one larger tool holder, a vise, and a lighted magnifier. The magnets are plenty strong to hold them in place but they are easy to move too. The set has been a great help to me several times already.
