Greater than one weekWe love Melissa & Doug toys! They are always great quality. Our daughter has the exotic animals puzzle so when the price dropped on this farm animal puzzle it was a no brainer. These chunky pieces are perfect for little fingers. My 18m old loves them.

> 3 dayMy daughter is almost 10 months old and loves to grab everything. Though she is still in the prime of developing her fine motor skills, this puzzle is PERFECT for her size and current abilities. The shapes come up about 0.5-1 inch off of the board, which gives her a great amount of the puzzle piece to grasp with just one hand. Since the pieces are wooden, they provide a nice amount of weight that is not too heavy for her to pick up, but definitely helps her get a better sense of the different weight of things. The board is also wooden, so she likes to clack the animals pieces back down on the board to make noise. I also like that these pieces do not have wooden pegs on them that could potentially be a choking hazard and picking up the different shaped animals also gives her better sensory play. Great quality puzzle for a steal of a price!

> 3 dayWe really love this product from Melissa and Doug! We have a few things from them in this house hold, and for the most part they have done really well! This makes learning run and easy when they can hold them animal, put them back teaches cleaning, its just a really nice simple product. We have a hard time with their rooster instead of a chicken? Hey, we will get there eventually :)

> 3 dayWhen I bought this puzzle, it was made of wooden layers and appeared painted. The stylized/cartoony animals were not overly so and they were colored in appropriate to reality. The animals when removed, have the same image beneath it.. so a kid matches a goat to a goat so the challenge is lining the piece up correctly to fit into the space. This makes the set great as a first chunky puzzle, so I will only buy 1 or 2 sets from Melissa & Doug.... The rest I will buy from Janod (my favorites are the zoo and forest puzzles) because kids match colors and animals shapes which is more of a challenge - in other words on Janod boards, the image of the animal is not on the board so kids have to pay attention to the color and shape of the animals to play on the board. I will also be buying the upper and lower case puzzles by Hape that have the back of each letter uncolored so you know which side faces forward. Overall, the farm puzzle is nice. A little bigger than what i think an 18 month old can carry without dropping the pieces and I think the paint may not last forever... but it works as a first introduction to the concept.

> 3 dayI got this puzzle on a lightning deal so the price was just perfect. I had had my eyes on this series of puzzles for a while now so I was thrilled to see them featured! I was debating between the peg puzzles and the chunky puzzles but ultimately decided on the chunky for a few reasons: -Though more expensive, the thicker pieces can hold up to more beatings -Pieces are thick enough to stand on their own so can double as wooden imaginary play pieces (we use them with blocks) -Thicker pieces are easier for little hands to grab onto- as opposed to grabbing onto the tiny pegs. I know Melissa and Doug sells puzzles with large knobs, but I felt my son would outgrow those too quickly and this way I would get the most use for my money. I love the bold colors of the farm animals, their smiling faces, and I love that the pieces have the right amount of weight to them. Unlike some of the other Melissa and Doug toys, these dont seem to just have a sticker on the front that can get peeled off (or sucked off since at this age everything ends up in the mouth. The edges of the pieces are painted and smooth. In terms of age, I love that such a wide range of ages can get use out of them. I got these for my son when he was 9 months old, so obviously he was a bit young to be assembling the puzzle. At first he just took the pieces out from their places and now, at 11 months we go through and practice animal sounds. Eventually, hell be able to do the puzzle himself. (Note: I know the recommended age for this product is 2+ years. Use your own discretion as a parent to make the right choice for your child)

> 3 dayWe love this puzzle! It is super sturdy and holds up to drool, biting, banging, slamming and throwing. The only odd thing is that the animal pieces look like the images were offset a bit, my toddler doesnt mind though and is able to match the animals with no problem.
