> 24 hourLightning Happens. Youll wish you had one of these, properly-grounded, on you antenna lead-in.

> 24 hourSo far they havent been tripped by lightening or anything but I have them installed on two HAM antennas attached to my minivan. My SWR remains below 1.4 and there is no perceivable interference. The grounding screw makes it easier to ground too.

> 24 hourI sure hope I never have to test this, meaning, I hope my antenna never gets hit by lightning. However, Im happy that I included it on my antenna setup, just the same. Ive had it inline to my antenna for a while now. It hasnt negatively affected performance of the antenna that Ive been able to detect. It didnt change the impedance or SWR either.

> 24 hourA little pricey, but I trust MFJ products over the years. This is well built.

> 24 hourYou do not need to use the provided lug. Home Depot sells copper lugs that will fit 6AWG wire for grounding. This will protect your equipment from lightning related surges. Came just as described

> 24 hourThis is a heavy-duty gas-discharge lightning/static arrestor. It is heavy and of solid contruction. I liked the good-sized ground strap Philips screw. This arrestor appears to be at least as herky as my Alpha-Delta ones. HIGHLY Recommended.

> 24 hourI hope the MFJ-270 never gets to be tested. I am placing two of these for each antenna. One at the base of the antenna and another at the back of the house. Hope to cut down on EFI along the coax. Trying to cut down on noise returning to the Ham Shack.
