> 3 dayIts perfect for hams to ground their antenna shield to help prevent damage to their radios. It safely discharges static electricity caused by the wind or nearby lightning strikes. If you get a direct hit by lightning there isnt anything made to protect your rig. I have one for each of my antennas.

> 3 dayI hope the MFJ-270 never gets to be tested. I am placing two of these for each antenna. One at the base of the antenna and another at the back of the house. Hope to cut down on EFI along the coax. Trying to cut down on noise returning to the Ham Shack.

> 3 dayFor now , I am using this with a end fed SWL antenna. It is my hope to obtain a Ham radio license in the future and with that in mind , my purchase of this device will work with any modest transceiver.

> 3 dayYou do not need to use the provided lug. Home Depot sells copper lugs that will fit 6AWG wire for grounding. This will protect your equipment from lightning related surges. Came just as described
