Greater than one weekA VERY POPULAR TUNER WITH HAMS. MAX WATTAGE IS 300W AND KNOBS CAN BE A BIT TOUGH. GREAT FOR STANDARD WATTAGE RIGH (100) AND QRP.

> 3 dayWorks as advertised. However, I did find that the knobs needed to be tightened properly to prevent damage to the components within the chassis.

> 3 dayI am disappointed given the good reviews this tuner got. The wattmeter was not calibrated when arrived. it was off by about 20%. Isnt it supposed to have been done before it left the factory? Also, the reading differs by about 10% between 10m and 20m when the same power is used in both bands. I do not have a chance to try the tuning function yet.

> 3 dayAfter reading about bad solder joints and loose screws I took it apart. Everything was neat, tight, and properly soldered. The capacitor knobs were almost perfectly aligned. Certainly commercialy acceptable. Also, functionally it works very well.

> 3 dayVersatile tuner can work with any antenna. Does not need external power (unless you want the adapter for the light) A little over ten inches wide and 3 inches high. Has selector for two coax antennas and can be switched to tuned or bypass. also has connection for external dummy load. I needed to download and print the instructions from the MFJ website at www.mfjenterprises.com/manuals

> 3 dayTunes my antenna system quite well. Easy to learn how to get the capacitance and inductance working together to achieve good SWR. I use it to tune my dipole antennas so that Im not having to take them down and put them back up over and over again while trimming them.

> 3 dayWell, hams often say MFJ stands for Mighty Fine Junk and in this case they are right. The tuner is VERY twitchy when moving the knobs trying to tune different bands. My antenna is resonant on 20 and 40 meters, but other bands are hard to get right without a matching unit, which is why I got this tuner. My radio wont transmit if there is a mismatch greater than 3:1. Even though the MFJ says it has tuned to 1:1, the radio often sees SWR great than 3:1 and will shut off transmit. On some knob positions, when trying to tune, the needles pulse like theyre following a regular dance beat or something. This unit acts much worse than my older 945E which I moved to my QRP unit out in the shack. This was an open box return from Ham Radio Outlet, so I guess Im stuck with it. Going to open it up, clean it out and hope for the best.

> 3 dayThis is a nice antenna tuner that must have missed the QC step or it was made late Friday afternoon. The box has a switch to connect the transmitter to a 50 ohm dummy load or various antennas. The switch has two dummy load position. One of them ( the tuner in line position) did not work even after repeated switch flips . Minor point but the antenna switch is uncomfortably hard to throw. MFJ can do better than this. Im going to get another one but check it out thoroughly...possible take the cover off and give it a good visual and ohm check before I harm my Transmitter.
