Dont buy the surface laptop 4 if you want long battery life. The battery life on the surface laptop 4 does not meet anything close to the advertised amount. I replaced a 4 year old Dell with the surface 4 laptop. When using common apps like Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Edge for everyday work tasks, the battery will not last 4 hours. This is the case even when I turn off background app refreshing and turn on battery saver mode to always. The 4 year old computer I replaced had a better battery than this system. Note - I received a replacement laptop thinking maybe something was wrong with the unit and found the replacement was the same. I went through all settings and tried to reduce power useage, but it still seems limited to 4 hours. This is very disappointing for a new laptop. On a positive note, the screen quality is the best I have had for any laptop, however you have to get an external dongle to connect a monitor as there is no hdmi, dvi, or vga on the laptop.

I am completely appalled at the poor quality of the physical body of the new Microsoft Surface Laptop 4. After much deliberation between the Laptop 4 vs MacBook Air, my husband and I decided on the Laptop 4. BIGGEST MISTAKE in product choice and now customer service experience. No dropping, no trauma to the computer. One minute, its perfect. In its closed state, the laptop was tapped to point it out for someone to it. The next minute, the computer is opened to a cracked and shattered screen. We purchased this just over 2 months ago, and Microsoft Customer Service is telling me I need to pay $499 for a replacement with a refurbished computer, even though the site states that is when we damaged it ourselves. Despite explaining that we did not cause trauma to the Laptop to result in such a broken screen, the customer service agent basically called me a liar because there is no way a screen would have cracked like that without trauma. In the end, he said to go ahead and leave a review and hung up on me. I will NEVER purchase a Microsoft product again and will be letting everyone I know to avoid them and to buy Apple or any other product. My MacBook Air has been thrown around for work and Ive had NO issue for about 10 years. Ive had other brands of laptops that withstood much abuse. I cant believe we thought this Laptop could be a portable device as it is apparently meant to be gently fixed in position without touching it. But more anger provoking than the broken new device is the poor, rude, unwilling to help, and offensive customer service. Never again.

I loved this laptop. Unfortunately even though Im currently still making payments on it, it is no longer charging. It will run for a limited amount of time while plugged in, but shuts itself down when it becomes overheated. I had to quickly purchase a chromebook,just to get me through, until I can get the battery replaced. Assuming that is the problem. I guess ultimately it my fault for not purchasing insurance. I shouldnt have assumed this laptop would run properly for at the very least,the amount of time it took me to pay it off.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 15 Touch Screen - Intel Core i7 - 32GB - 1TB itself is a decent product; HOWEVER, the one I received developed a horrible display problem.

Have had it for a week big fan of the keyboard super comfortable for typing and other applications. Does tend to run hot so keep that in mind but awesome laptop great deal.

The keyboard cant handle fast typing. If you type quickly, avoid this computer!

Product was faulty out of the box. Would shut down and make a popping noise with any movement of the laptop, which as it is a laptop and meant to be moved happens often, like when moving it an inch or placing it down on something. Attempting to exchange the product has been a huge pain. After chatting with an Amazon representative, which appeared to be the route to a replacement we were asked to trouble shoot an issue that no amount of trouble-shooting would fix. Then we were told that Microsoft would contact us, they didnt. We called Microsoft # in the email we got about follow up and the message said we had to submit the issue online. After doing so we were offered a refurbished product. Disappointed that it didnt work, that the exchange process is this broken and lastly, that in exchange for a new product we were offered a new one.

Last year I was toying between this laptop and the HP Spectre x360, and I went with the HP. I customized it to have a better graphics card so that I could edit videos and such. Well, after some use I was definitely not thrilled with it. As it turns out, it got stolen recently, and I had to scramble to buy a new one. The Surface was next on my list, so I bought one from Swappa (highly recommend this option- it was virtually brand new, and $500+ below retail price). I AM SO HAPPY!!!
