Im a welding student and my school doesnt provide us with tungsten, so most of us got this brand from Amazon. The school let us use some random short piece of crap for our first class, but we had to have our own ASAP. (Student Prime shipping got it to me in time for my next class!) No complaints about the Midwest tungsten from myself or any of my classmates. Since Im doing my first TIG class I dont have anything to compare these to, but Ive asked some of the more experienced students and they really like this brand compared to others they have tried. I bought these from recommendations from my teacher and other classmates, and it had really good reviews here too. Perfect mid-range price point since Im still dipping a lot! As Im improving my skills I notice that the arc starts easily, and can take the abuse Im giving them. They are WAY better than the random brand that the school lent us the first day of class! Ill continue to purchase from Midwest, and my classmates are too. Just like other reviewers have said; the paint on the top is too thick to stick into the torch without inserting it from the back. I just rubbed the excess off on my bench and that fixed the issue. Only took enough paint off to feed it in without snagging and can still see what color it is.

Fast shipping product works as expected

The Tungsten rods are great. Ive order 3 different Midwest tungstens (1/16 + 3/16 blue and 1/16 red). Im happy with all three. The price was good and with Prime I had them in 2 days. I havent use the blues with aluminum yet but they work well with steel. Im happy with them and will buy again.
