I really liked this book. Im familiar with this story from having read the scriptures. I still found myself getting sucked in and wanting to keep reading. I enjoyed learning about their culture at that time. It really brings The Book of Mormon to life. *I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I read by H.B. Moore and has since been a favorite author. I so enjoyed this story which keeps the scriptural account accurate while giving an endearing senario of this amazing person. Highly recommend to anyone even if you arent interested in scriptural stories.

Very interesting read! This book brought the story of Abinadi to life. The author obviously did a great deal of research to make the book as authentic as possible. The factual parts of the story are blended with the fictional seamlessly. Because the actual events involved some very wicked people and practices, there are some unsavory parts to the story. But the author handled it well; there is nothing graphic or inappropriate. Beautifully written.

Loved the book

Ive followed Heather since we moved into her neighborhood when she was a teenager. Ive taken classes in Old Testament studies from her father S. Kent Brown. I love her style of writing the insights that she brings to all of her writing. Im thrilled that I can now purchase her books on me kindle and take them with me anywhere. If youve never read any of her books, you are in for a real treat.

This book keeps you riveted, mixed with scripture to support the making and journey of a preacher. I enjoyed the journey!

This book is great! If you dont know the story of Abinadi then I dont want to give anything away, but it is a tear jerker, even when you know the outcome. Heather certainly does a lot of research! I have and will recommend not just this book, but the others in this collection to anyone who asks about them.

HB Moore books provide an avenue for me to truly enjoy scripture - and accept the fact my children that are evil and selfish and prideful are not that different from those in ancient history and that I am not to blame for their bad choices.

Another great story by Heather Moore. I love reading her version of these scriptural figures. She researches the time period and culture and makes the characters come to life. I feel like I understand them more after reading her stories. I liked her new take on Adinadi where she portrays him as a younger man. It makes his sacrifice that much more. I enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it.

A interesting and enlighting book. It puts the prophet Abinadi in a whole different light, with a wife and family.
