They are what they are, extra or replacement steel plates for use on a flat magnet mount, twice the size of my original plate that came with my mounting system so these are more forgiving and give you more surface area to stick to your magnet mount.

I did not have a problem with the sticking side to my phone case. I used it on the back of my case and not inside the car or on my actual phone. A hint to remove this type of product is to use dental floss run it between the product and the magnet and pull down it takes some doing but it will remove it without damage to your phone. I would buy these magnets again.

Couples great with just about any of the magnet holders you can find on amazon. I used one on the back of my Note 8, with just the adhesive it comes with, and it does not show any sign of ever coming off unless I take it off intentionally.

Fits within otter box and phone without using the adhesive.
