MOVA Globe Metallic Black and Silver 4.5

I got this black metallic mova globe a gift for my boyfriend after seeing it in a gift shop in Chicagos Adler Planetarium (but went home and purchased it on Amazon instead because I love Amazon haha). He is really into maps, globes, anything space related. When he saw this in the shop he thought it was so neat. However, that planetarium gift shop is very well lit with lots of windows. He has one window in the room where he keeps this and it never has enough light to make it spin. Weve tried several other rooms in the house and his office and it just doesnt work consistently no matter what we try. It is still very pretty on the desktop and makes a great statement piece, but I am disappointed that we cant find an appropriate area in the house where it can move on its own. Also, I think it was way overpriced. My rating is 3 stars, which may be too high based on the price and how much sunlight it requires to work. I was disappointed, but it was still a thoughtful gift and is very beautiful.

Crazy easy set up and it’s just a very cool product. I’d really like to pay 500 for a standard size globe but it’s not available. They would probably charge more than that but I hope it’s coming.

Sits on my office desk and gets tons of compliments. I first saw a Mova globe at a fancy boutique store here in Raleigh NC, and love them! Would be great for an executive or kid alike. (A kid that could sit it on their desk and not pick it up too much.)

I always suffer buying my husband creative gifts for Christmas, but he can’t stop saying how much he loves this globe even months later! Even people that visit my apartment comment on how cool it is.

Great conversation piece.

I just received my globe and all but one of the acrylic pieces for the stand is missing from the package! How is one supposed to display this globe without the appropriate stand??!! Not only that but there an inspection sticker on the package saying Amazon “Inspected this package” I call BULL on that! Any person with half a brain would have seen that two CRITICAL pieces of the product were missing!!! Waste of money and time. Buy elsewhere

If you love gadgets, this is a must have. What a invention, and what a conversation piece. Very delicate, must be handled with care, keep away from kids.

Christmas gifts for my adult children. For my daughter the wrong globe was received, she actually likes Jupiter globe better than the earth globe I thought I had purchased.
