> 24 hourThese are great. Got them for pen making/disassembly. They work great as punches to disassemble pen kits and as rods mounted in a drill chuck on the lathe for squaring blanks on a disc sander (mounted in the headstock). They are a few bucks cheaper on Amazon than on the pen-making websites and are exactly the same thing. I highly recommend them!

> 24 hourDo not buy these for use on metal !!! they are poor quality and deformed the very first time i tested them on a piece of mild steel. also, the base is somewhat fragile and prone to breakage.

> 24 hourI bought this not for creating a mark for drilling but to test against punches sold as emergency window breakers and to see if it would work as such since it has the large head on it instead of being a skinny device about the size of a pen and would be easier to handle in an emergency. As such I test them on wood and this creates an indentation as deep as the punches sold as emergency window breakers and the large knob makes it much easier to handle, especially in an emergency where something smaller might slip out of my hand.

> 24 hourDoes what it says it will do, but it does not leave an indentation every time. I took it apart and oiled it up but that did not make any difference. Sometimes you cant use a hammer, this tool eliminates the need. I looked at several and decided on the one with the RED knob.
