I have had other Center Point spring loaded punches in the past and it seems like the end of them is too small for your palm this ones great just do the fact thats got a large red palm end that fits in your palm so you can really get some pressure on it to find where you need to punch.

A perfect hole and enables me to hit the spot each time with the drill.

Im happy with this product, a little dissapointed for the force applied using the punch, but not a big deal about it,

I use this all the time in the woodshop and it works great. I recently made a leather-workers tool holder with 877 holes on a laid-up matrix design. This was a life saver in allowing me to position a brad-point drill for the small holes and a Forstner bit for the large. I had previously purchased a chromed steel auto-center punch looking similar as this without the wooden knob at the end. The mechanism lasted exactly five punches. This one is still going strong.

I am impressed with how this tool is made. The impact point is made from S2 alloy steel which is high shock resistant steel and is harder than chrome vanadium steel and also more expensive. All of the parts appear to be well made. The inside of the red polymer top houses a well machined brass fitting. This is made in Taiwan, not a knock off. I purchased this punch for use mostly with wood and some plastics. Ive always use a steel punch and hammer. I always had problems making the dent where I need it. I cant look at the point and where I striking the old punch at same time. With this tool, all of my focus is making a dent where I need it. Depth in pine is excellent and not affected by wood grain. Soon Ill test it with SS sheet metal duct material; Ive had such a hard time drilling on a round surface. Amazon reviewers give it a 93% favorable rating which is impressive. I am very satisfied with my purchase and fully recommend it.
