> 3 dayNetGear has always made solid switches. They are always my go-to over any other brand, if for nothing other than they just feel better with their steel cases than a lot of plastic crap that is out there.

> 3 dayOnly a bit more than the 8 port which I also have. They both work fine. data transfer speeds are as advertised according to my friend who did a couple of file transfers across different devices on my network. I think they were all over 750MBPS All my devices are connected at Gigabit. I guess that is normal. I run my router into this and then my devices. The 8 port is in the media room connected to TV, BluRay and Xbox. Much faster than wifi but a lot more hassle to run the ethernet. Worth it though for the stability and instant streaming of movies and upgrades. Far more secure as well.

> 3 dayI installed this switch after moving into a new house. I started seeing network speed deterioration from 1gbps to <100mbps and kept having to reset my router for the speed to restore. After about 4-5 weeks I got frustrated with the constant resets so started replacing components in the network to figure out the source. I finally replaced this a couple of weeks ago with a TP-Link dumb switch and voila all my issues are resolved.

> 3 dayThis switch works well. I like all the Ports, it has plenty of room for future expansion. My only complaint would be that it lacks a din-rail mount. But, since it wasn’t advertised as having one, I’m not going to ding it on it.

> 3 dayThis is really nice switch. I wish the Ethernet plugged into back with lights in front versus both plug and lights on the same side. Silly issue I know, but usability wise that would work better. Net, very nice switch, great warranty, easy to use.
