> 24 hourI very much like the price of this unit. $18 for an 8 port gigabit switch from a reputable brand is an incredible deal. The metal chassis highly impressed me, as well, and harkens back to the metal bodied D-Link 10/100 switches of the early 2000s. I only hope this will be similarly unkillable.

> 24 hourI recently switched my internet service from Viasat to Starlink. The Starlink modem lacked ethernet ports for my wired network. I bought this to serve the wired network. The first couple days of use my connection speeds were erratic and generally slow, apparently due to Starlink sorting out the connections, but since then I have had reliable, fast connections over my wired network. This does what I needed at a good price.

> 24 hourI use this for switching the network to different devices, and also to different rooms. The device is good performing, no lags. I had to contact customer support to use the enhanced feature. Netgears customer support is very good. They were patiently supporting me guide thru the process. Awesome support.

> 24 hourThis is NOT a wifi router! It’s a switch. Essentially a splitter for ethernet lines... Plug line 1 into the source of your network signal (like your cable modem) and plug your other devices into it. Plug the power cord in and wait about ten seconds. Watch the blinking lights.

> 24 hourThis replaced a similar 5-port switch that wasnt broken, we just needed a couple more ports. The only minor annoyance was that it has no status lights on the front, only a power-on LED. No big deal, I turned it around so I could see the activity lights next to each cable connector. We use this switch for streaming video, running backups onto a home server and general Net surfing. We havent managed to choke it, nor does it get hot with heavy network traffic. As an unmanaged switch should be, there is no setup needed, just plug and play.
