NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch (GS308) - Home Network Hub, Office Ethernet Splitter, Plug-and-Play, Silent Operation, Desktop or Wall Mount

Theres a million ways to misconfigure VLANs and only a few ways to do it correctly. Thats no fault of this switch which, after a few misconfigurations on my part, ended up working perfectly to isolate my IoT network from my home and office networks.

I replaced an old unmanaged switcher with this sturdier unmanaged switcher. Connections are rock solid, I’ve had no lines “drop” like my old hub and the price was reasonable. My only small complaint is that the indicator lights are on the same side as the connections, so if you want to see the LED indicators for your connections you have to look at the wires as well. Not a big deal, I’m just OCD about having my wires looking organized.

Was a great product while it lasted i loved it and didnt give me many issues sadly it died in a storm last night though and their support is bad in my experience so thats why i am only giving 3 stars.

I bought one for one of the racks in my 3d print farm. Works fine, no issues or complaints. Its a small gig switch. Not much else to say about it.

Needed this to expand my home network while still being able to manage devices and ports. The switch itself works great and boots up fast unlike my router. Only took a few minutes to get the settings configured once everything was connected. Id definitely buy again and probably will when I need to expand again. I love that its actually metal instead of plastic. My only complaint with this is the app is garbage. No matter what I do the app will not connect to the switch for monitoring and configuring. I only get an error saying the switch is out of range. But if you are connecting to the switch homepage through another device on the network then youre fine.

I purchased mine to be able to monitor my amplifiers through software. The ports light up when engaged that was a selling point for me. It does the job im very happy with it. Nicely constructed not cheap. You have to download an app to initiate it.

The switch works great, and I have bought many. The ONLY reason for my low rating is the RMA process is long and arduous. I have spent at least 10+ hours total trying (with Netgear) to get one of these exchanged. It is finally off in the mail as of this writing, but man, what a journey. It seems as if they are purposefully making this process hard. I have searched online and found the Netgear Community is full of complaints just like mine.
