I Bought this because my New 3ds XLs battery plates paint was falling off, So I bought this to prevent it from happening further. It gets the job done, however, its extremely uncomfortable to hold and digs into your hands because the edge is a bit sharp. It needs to be smoothed

Wven fits over a skin

My 3ds was getting dirty fast after usage and I feared dropping it or scratching it as I knew it would happen eventually. The case definitely eases my anxiety of it and also helps the grip too. Decorated it with stickers afterwards too.

This is a case for the NEW 3DS XL. It will NOT fit other versions as they are different sizes, and have a different layout for the ports (charging, game carriage, stylus, headphone). For those saying it doesnt fit, I looked into which 3DS they had (one review mentions the 2DS, other mentions the 3DS XL) It ONLY fits the NEW 3DS XL, just like the kind I have and can be seen in my photos. If there is an additional thumbstick in the upper right corner than that is a good indication that is is the NEW 3DS. It will NOT fit the 3DS XL either, as there are slight differences in the systems with regards to where the ports for everything are. I got the crystal clear as I wanted the SNES look of my 3DS to show. installation is not difficult, though understand you may need to apply a bit more pressure than you think at first, for fear of the case cracking. It didnt crack on me, and can also be removed if needed (I had to access the micro SD card after putting the case on, and I was able to detach and reset it without any issues). It does not interfere with the hinges, nor the any of the buttons. The hinge less design, in my opinion, is ideal as it is one less thing that can break. It also keeps the case slim, and will still fit in a carrying case without the need to get a new one as it doesnt make the system too bulky at all. The only down side is not due to the case, but due to the design of the New 3DS XL. The only access to the micro SD card is by taking out the two screws on the back and opening it up. The case here covers the back, and would have to be removed in order to access the micro SD. However, if you do not frequently need to access the card, then this is a non issue. Overall, this is a GREAT case if you want to protect against scratches and small drops, and still want your DS theme image to show (like the SNES one). If you are looking to get one, just make sure that you have the correct model 3DS XL. I plan on ordering a second one for my sons 3DS so his Pikachu case image shows, and can have some protection against it becoming scratched or damaged.

So I had a little trouble getting the case fully on my 3ds xl, eventually after all the struggling I decided to use my stylus to kind of pry the case around the ds and it worked! Once it was on completely it felt nice.

I bought a brand new New Nintendo 3DS XL recently and wanted to protect it and so I bought this. Its really easy clipping it on and taking it off. The material is fairly thick so I dont doubt it will protect it from falling from short heights and itll protect it from scratches which is what Im mostly buying this for. I love it!

Great for if you want to show of the system’s colors, protect the console, and maintain the form factor. Ergonomically not much of an improvement for large hands, but if you want protection and still want to fit the system in large pockets, this is the shell for you.
