Is this not for thermal paste? It’s awful for cleaning silicon. Use isopropyl alcohol for those things.

In case you are worried about an isopropyl alcohol dipped cotton swab causing a static discharge you can use one of these moist alcoholic towlet to clean up that dry and worn thermal paste. It does its intended job pretty well.

Man, this thing actually just works like in original videos... I tried it for the first time yesterday on sp3 cpu, was done in a minute! Truly a time saver. I always hated swapping the thermal compound, these little wipes just save your time.

Well it is as described. A tiny wash cloth dripping with alcohol to clean the thermal paste off. I might need to buy a polisher together with it next time.

A lot of people simply use isopropyl alcohol to clean CPUs and heatsinks but at the price, these are a must better option. One towelette will easily clean both the CPU and heatsink of the cooler.

I know that this type of product is considered overkill, but they are very nice to have when working on anything computer-related.

It can take about 1-2 wipes to really clear it up and it can be a bit greasy but I havent had any issues with it. It will take a bit to get harden paste off though so be prepared to use more then one.
