> 3 dayI7 4790k a bit over locked ran at 80 on 100% load with cheap corsair watercooling. The watercooling failed, delivering its content to the MB drips by drips until I figured my cpu was 9verheating and throttling. I switched back to air but wanted the best. I have not been disappointed! Now idles at 36, maxes around 70. Im flabbergasted by this unit. Every review mentioning how well made, how easy it is to install are true. The level of engeneering in this seems to surpass every other heatsink Ive ever used. And Ive been overclocking computer since before internet was a thing (486dx/2 66 running at 133mhz in 1994)

> 3 dayI have a i7 7700k which is insanely hot but with this heatsink my temps are fine now. I was using a pretty cheap heatsink before and temps would hit up to 80-90c under heavy load. With the NH-D15 my tests so far look great. 29-31c idle and hitting 60c top in heavy use while gaming. Huge improvement for me.

Greater than one weekWorks great and surprisingly quiet. Absolutely gigantic, make sure your case can fit it.

> 3 dayThis is a monster of unit. Its huge. Luckily I have a Haf 922 which is a very roomy midtower. I checked compatibility first and it fit. Be careful and make sure that your case is big enough because this unit is big.

> 3 dayThe only thing I want to point out is you should check how much room you have around the CPU area. If you have to lift the fans (move the further away from motherboard, which you can do) they will get REALLY loud at high speeds.

10-06-2025I have been fighting thermal issues for a year now using a 240mm AIO. My i9 under load after overclocking would reach 90C+ on the regular. Since installing this and throwing benchmarks and gaming on it, I’ve yet to go over 70C in the same conditions. Absolutely incredible piece of hardware and somehow fit over my Corsair Dominator sticks minus the second fan, but even with heater of a CPU I don’t need the optional fan. Also please measure your case before buying. By sheer luck this fit in my case about a millimeter above my RAM and about a centimeter away from the tempered glass

Greater than one weekit comes neatly packaged, parts for AMD and Intel motherboards, its heavy, its massive, its easy to install, comes with thermal paste and a decent screwdriver, good instructions, fits easily in the Fractal Design R5 case, so far it is keeping the AMD FX 9590 cpu nice and cool but i havent tested it under heavy load yet. I am very happy with the colossus Noctua NH-D15

> 3 dayNoctua is revered by all DIY project users. I is far too ugly to be found in a prebuilt PC and so is the over the top high quality. Made from insulating over the top expensive plastics over engineered all together. Showing some DIY pride here.
