So my ONLY complaint about this otherwise awesome mouse pad is the description. In the description (at least at the time I write this review), one of the bullet points is Qi wireless charging - Charge your wireless gaming mouse and Qi-enabled devices such as smartphones while you play The key words I read there, and lets see if others think the same, was the While you play. So here I am thinking, Oh wow, so this pad can keep my wireless mouse charged while I play! Awesome! So I ordered this as a bundle with the HP Omen mouse, which has yet to be shipped (thanks, COVID), excited that I can finally ditch the cord and game for long bits of time without having to worry about the mouse dying in the middle of a tense gaming moment. Unfortunately, when I unboxed the pad, I found that this mouse pad only has a small charging spot for devices, with room enough for one device to sit on. It does work. My phone is charging on it as we speak. But my hopes of having an actual pad surface that keeps a mouse charged DURING gaming again went up in smoke. So I am now back to knowing there are no pads like that out there. Still, thinking this was the first pad that could do that, I bought it, and I am still somewhat okay with the purchase. While my main purpose was the expectations I ranted about above, the pad itself IS a very nice pad to have. Its HUGE, so do NOT expect this to be a portable hard surface you can pack with your laptop and take with you. You will NOT be doing that. But for at home on a desk or table, this pad provides a large, nice surface to play on. It also lights up nicely and with the HP Omen software can be customized on the lighting. I do have to point out that if you do not have the matching wireless mouse to go with this pad, and end up using a corded mouse, the cord WILL catch on a device you might have charging while you are moving the mouse around. So the wireless charge spot is only useful if you use this with a wireless mouse. I will not be wireless until Amazon ships the mouse I ordered with this. Would I recommend this pad? YES! I actually would. I just wanted to write this review to let readers know in detail NOT to expect a surface that charges your wireless mouse while you play, as the description leads you to believe. Cheers.

Looks great matched with my Omen desktop. Having the mouse charge just by leaving it on the top of the pad is super easy. While hardcore gamers say a mouse has to be wired, I sure cant tell the difference and dont want to deal with the cord. I like the extra buttons I can program for games and the ability to change the mouse speed on the fly is nice. I work from home as well as game so this mouse gets a LOT of use and after several months of use I have no complaints.

I dont know if this is a localized problem that only involves me, but my mouse will randomly set its DPI to the lowest setting and wont let me change it (Even in the Omen Command Center software) so I wouldnt recommend this to E-sport gamers unless you are okay with using the lowest DPI setting on this mouse. The only way to fix it is to reach behind my computer, plug in the micro USB cable, and connect it with a cable. This is really inconvenient because I use my desks built-in USB ports to charge the mouse and my computers ports are all on the back of it except for 2, one for the wireless receiver for this mouse and one for my Omen Headset. This is really frustrating for the price, but all I use my setup for is for video editing and light gaming so it doesnt really harm me that much. This happens twice or even three times a day for me, so now Ive gotten used to charging my mouse on the floor at night so I can leave the cable back there. The mouse is really comfortable, I dont even think about me holding it half the time. And while I dont need the ambidextrous stuff, I do appreciate the engineering involved and the magnets are a blast to fidget with. The materials are pretty good, the mouse feels heavy but glides fast and without much force. The RGB is limited with the bad Omen software, but this could change with future updates to the Command center so keep that in mind. (Written 2/8/20) The mouse connects to the computer on boot almost instantly, way faster than my Omen Sequencer keyboard which is wired. The latency is not even noticeable, even when I play Overwatch and other Esport games on occasion I never felt latency. I really want to recommend this mouse, and I own so many Omen products, but I cant because of that stupid bug. Maybe just update the firmware, after all the MicroUSB can carry data so just make me plug my mouse in like usual and install some new firmware to fix it. For 120 bucks, I expected a mouse that would at least be somewhat reliable but this thing really disappoints. Edit (3/14/20): So, another month has passed, and I think the issues are pretty much gone. I dont know how, but honestly, I dont care Im just glad the mouse is back to normal. Now, the mouse is easier to recommend, but I still have some gripes with it that have developed over time. New pros: -The battery life is great, considering the RGB. I get around a week of 3-6 hour use of it on a charge. -The mouse stays clean, even with abuse; I eat food at my desk to save time a lot, and I have noticed that my mouse is much cleaner than my keyboard even though I use it way more. I do clean my keyboard, but not my mouse so its kind of scary how clean it is. -The DPI issues have stopped for a good while now, so thats good. New Cons: -When wireless charging, I find it difficult to find the sweet spot to charge. I end up spending like a full 30 seconds shifting it around to find that perfect spot where it charges and if you nudge it it stops. -When charging wirelessly or wired from a wall outlet, the RGB stays on even after hours have passed without movement. (The RGB is really bright at night with no other lights on) -This is a nitpick, but it bothers me a little so I thought I would mention it; the scroll wheel sounds different scrolling up rather than down where it is much louder scrolling up. EDIT: (5/02/20) The mouse got a firmware update, it probably fixed the issues I was experiencing. However, now a hardware issue has arisen. I lost one of the magnetic pieces of the mouse and now theres a big gap in the side. Keep in mind while purchasing that there are no extra magnetic pieces included.

I am so glad to have chose this mouse instead of the Razer Basilisk. The ambidextrous design is well thought out. My hand sits comfortably on it and even after extensive use. It also charges quick and the battery lasts me for around 4 days of a couple of hours of usage each day. I primarily use this mouse for general usage than gaming. I would definitely recommend this mouse to everyone (non-gamers included).

I’ve never been huge on wireless mice for computers, especially for gaming, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The mouse paired easily and since I have had zero issues with connectivity nor have I experienced any kind of delay or lag with movement. The sensitivity is highly and easily customizable and the side wings add an interesting feel to the mouse (though I do like that they’re removable if I’m not in the mood) The mouse keeps its charge for about a week for me, that’s with a little bit of use during the day and a few hours of gaming each night. I am going to look into a charging pad as that is an option with this mouse, which is really cool. Overall I am impressed with the quality and comfort this mouse provides. The easy sensitivity controls mean the non gamers in the house don’t have to whine about hating the mouse when they use the PC, they can just quickly adjust it themselves.

I started having issues with the mouse out of the box. It started as minor cosmetic issues (I would select what color Id like the OMEN logo to be from within the command center, and it would last no more from 5-10 minutes before it would chose which color to be on its own)... about a month into having the mouse the real issues started. Seemingly out of nowhere, the actual functionality of the mouse goes down the drain. Sometimes its the right-click function, sometimes its the left-click, sometimes the scroll wheel will not work, and the DPI of the mouse will randomly be reduced a significant amount to the point where I cant play with it. If an HP representative reads this, PLEASE contact me for a replacement

Bought the HP Omen set back in June 2020. Its now mid-April 2021 and the mouse is giving me headaches. Unless its connected by wire, it skips, lags, slows down randomly and altogether fails at some points. Its a shame given how customisable and comfortable the mouse is. I will be switching from this $100+ mouse to something around the $20 range. Time and time again quality products fail on me, while their inexpensive counterparts continue to blow my mind away

I really like this mouse. Not a gamer but so far the mouse works great and is very accurate. I find the built in Qi extremely convenient. The ambidextrous features are a smart design and make it possible to have extra buttons, though I don’t know how easy it would be to use them.

Ive tried dozens of gaming mice, both tethered and wireless. They all have their positives and negatives and this one is no exception. What I like the most about the Omen is the hand comfort. It truly cradles your hand and I love that it has removable wings to rest your thumb and pinky on--a great feature. The mouse is incredibly precise and has zero connection issues (such a big deal as Ive used some wireless Razer mice that would drop connection at the worst possible times). I also love that I can charge it on the same Qi charging pad I use for my iPhone and Airpods. Everything can plop onto the same surface! Fantastic! The only thing I dont love about the Omen Photon is that it doesnt give you a low battery notification. Would love to see this implemented in Windows 10s Notification Center. Sometimes I forget to drop it onto the Qi charger and it craps out mid-day. Other than the notification issue, this is a fantastic mouse that I have no hesitation giving 5 glowing stars to!
