Well designed, heavy duty, powder coated metal. Rubber to protect base and contact points with laptop. Adjustable with Allen bolts to secure. Ordered another style stand prior to this one and returned it. This is a keeper. Top notch design and construction.

This stand is going to be put to good use! I love the sturdy feeling and the weighted touch. I have know doubt that this will hold my MacBook when I need to charge it. They also provide a lifetime warranty that is very easy to fill out as well. It take about 2 mins and then you are done.

Stability is good. Not a problem at all holding my Mac Book Pro 13”. Highly recommended.

My mid-2014 MBP was taking up too much space on my desk unnecessarily since I was using two external monitors. A docking station that meets my needs/desires doesnt seem to be available for my model year laptop. I opted for the single stand (not the one with two slots for a tablet). Construction appears solid, there are two set screws on the bottom to adjust for width with a rubbery material inside for assured grip; my laptop is in a shell case and that adds some thickness. The stand has a pebble-type aluminum texture on it and I get the impression that - despite the heft - if dropped it would fracture or shear. That is simply an impression and hopefully I never find out.
