When I received this item I replaced it with my Optoma HD27-E and it started to work fine. Then all of a sudden the screen began to flicker like the bulb was starting go out. I went on online to replace my projector and received a message unable to return contact Optoma Service. I then called Amazon and received the same advice from someone off shore. I then requested to speak to a Manager onshore and was transferred. When I spoke with the onshore Manager I told her what my issue was and she said she would help me. After I was finished she was very helpful and said that she would replace my projector immediately and that I should receive it within a couple of days, which I did within two days. I asked her why was I told by the offshore reps that there was nothing they could do for me, after I told them that the Amazon website said free returns. She said that there was a misunderstanding and that she would bring it to their attention. This only goes to show always ask the person at the top for help if you know you are within your rights. I have received my new projector, the color is beautiful and there are no flickers so far. I hope this will be helpful to others with the same type of problem.

Good picture quality and allows the 4k and hdr streams to be accessed on prime, Netflix and Disney app on amazon fire 4k. Allows Dolby atmos audio streams to be an option. Tried several 4k projectors and just were not bright enough even in a dark room and had flickering issues due to a long hdmi cable run in my theater setup. Is a bit finicky when changing settings on initial setup but once it’s set I never change projector settings again. All voice activated with a harmony hub and Alexa. Very bright With ambient light present. Replaced a optima hd20 I’ve had for years and it is defiantly an improvement. Until more 4k content is available and atmos movies just not worth the extra for a 4k projector in my opinion.

DLP is head and shoulders over LED. Room does not have to be dark to get a brilliant picture

So I had a cheap Wimius projector I got for like $200. When I turned this projector on, it completely made the Wimius projectors picture disappear, thats how bright it is. This is True 4000 Ansi Lumens it is BRIGHT. The colors are vivid and beautiful. Its well worth the money. I also saw in the reviews the audio isnt good. I leave my volume on 1, its more than enough for a bedroom or living room. Anything more than 1 is kinda too loud for me. Obviously there are better prjectors out there in the $1000+ range but this projector will blow your mind if youre new to projectors. It looks just as good as my 4k 240hz UHD Samsung TV. Only complaint is, it get HOT. Almost too hot to touch. But that can be expected since its a damn light cannon!

I had the optoma hd20. This version is just so much better. True you can see the image even if there is light in the room. Very usable during the day. You do not need blackout blinds at all. I tried the hdrz 39 version, which uses a lazer. But this bulb based version produces a better image to me when using the same contrast and brightness levels. So i am happy with my purchase indeed. I wish the zoom were stronger because my room is quite large and rather have the projector at the edge of the ceiling. It would look better. Speakers are not good but i used a sound bar. Noize level and heat are much better compared to what i had. Not really noticeable when mounted on the ceiling.

Weve used this for a month in a home theater setup with Mac Mini (for internet) and a DVD player. It projects on a large classroom-size screen in our living room. Audio is sent directly out of the Mac Mini to a state of the art sound system. The whole thing is rather impressive. But I digress. Optoma HD39HDR has nice, clear images and it never goes out of focus. The only thing Ive found to be a problem is that when you are projecting in 4/3 aspect ratio for DVD and then go back to the 16/9 for internet, the color is all messed up, being to red and too rich. People all look like theyve spent the night in a toaster oven. The remedy--just turn the projector off and after 10 seconds turn on again and it will go back to normal. I love the rather economical bulb which is supposed to last years. In the econ mode, which preserves bulb life, the brightness is just fine for our living room. Our previous Otoma projector lasted 10 years with c. 4-5 hours operation per day every day. I hope this one will be as good.
