> 3 dayIt constantly loses connection. Moderately easy to set up, I love the idea, and the plus itself works if I go outside to turn it on or off — but that kind of defeats the purpose. It loses connection with my phone constantly and will not reconnect.

> 3 dayThis plug drives our patio and garden illumination. The homekit integration works well, I can switch the lights with both Alexa commands and my Apple device, including the watch. One small caveat was that the company decided to print the homekit QR-Code on a paper sticker which was decidedly not weatherproof - when I reset the system to hook it up to a new IoT wifi, I couldnt relink it because the homekit sticker was unreadable. However, the Meross support managed to look up the deleted device through my account with them and sent me an email with the missing QR code – in less than 4 hours! Kudos to their support, no star deduction for the flimsy sticker :).

> 3 dayIf you have many Apple products like I do and are using HomeKit, this outdoor smart plug is a great product and I highly recommend it. It was very easy to set up. Each outlet can be addressed individually. I am currently using one of the outlets to turn on a bug light at night and turn it off during the day. Im using the other outlet to control some decorative lights that I have on the back porch. But during the holidays this plug would be a great way to control your outdoor Christmas lights. Its nice to see that more companies are beginning to support HomeKit. I hope someday that all of my lights and switches can be controlled this way.

> 3 dayIve a series of landscape lights whose controller Ive never bothered to figure out, by turning them to on and plugging the controller into this HomeKit plug, Im able to get them to work via simple automation from my phone or turn them on via Siri. Hey Siri turn on on the landscape lights. And when Christmas time rolls around I can plug the Christmas lights into the other power receptacle. Paired quickly via my phone and assigned it to an automation to turn on the 1st receptacle at sunset and turn off a couple hours later. Antenna is pretty good as it is located maybe 30 feet from the nearest HomeKit Hub, the AppleTV in the master bedroom, and seems to work reliably (time will tell).

> 3 dayI like the way it’s for outdoors and it’s easier to link it with My Home Apple’s app but I got tired trying to link it to Alexa. In my case I had to change my wifi password and that messed it up

> 3 dayI originally bought this to control some Christmas lights. However the wife range is so awful on this they shouldn’t call it outdoor plug, because outdoors it can barely maintain a connection. I have a Unifi business class network setup in my home, with multiple access points, and get 75% signal strength to the edges of my 3/4 acre property, but this switch can’t maintain connection to an AP that’s less than 15’ away diagonally. So they released firmware to “fix” the disconnect problem. I was stoked when I saw that. Only it didn’t really fix it. The connection still drops constantly, only now it reconnects. When I try to connect to the switch from my Home app it’s pure chance if it’s actually working, and not in “device is unresponsive” mode. Then if you wait 30 seconds, it miraculously comes back online for a minute or so, and then is unresponsive again. So I gave up trying to use it outside, and brought it in the house to control a pair of lamps in my living room. Even inside the house the max wifi signal strength I can get is around 76%, and merely rotating the switch 1/4 turn will drop that to the low 60s, even though the switch is in the same exact position, just rotated. Completely awful antenna arrangement. If I added this switch using the MeRoss app and didn’t select the HomeKit integration, it worked fine. But I bought it specifically to use with HomeKit. In closing, I’ve attached ZWave switches to HomeKit. via a software bridge, in a Docker container running on my NAS, and even THAT was easier than trying to get this switch to work and stay working. If I can’t turn my lights on or off the moment I want to, then any switch is useless to me. I recommend finding one that has better HomeKit integration, and better reception if you want a plug to use outdoors. Luckily I’m already mostly bald or I would have now after two months of trying everything to get this to work reliably.

20-11-2024Purchased as a replacement smart plug to control outdoor water feature. The Apple connection was difficult to configure. Tried briefly to use Amazon but soon gave up. The Meross utility worked fine.

> 3 dayI’ve added many home kit devices to my home. As soon as I added this my entire home automation devices became non responsive. Tried multiple times to contact customer support. There’s only an email and they take days to response and just say talk to the customer service for the other items. Your item isn’t working either!!! Stay away!!!
