I have revised this review since this cable is junk in less than 6 months and after only 3 uses. I perform Time Machine backups on my MacBook Pro every 2 months and attempted to perform a backup yesterday. I plugged in the drive using the OWC cable and the drive was seen but Time Machine wouldnt allow me to choose it even though ive already used this drive for TM backups on this machine. I plugged in the short 8 cable that came with my thunderbolt ssd and then I was able to perform the TM backup. This would have been my 4th backup with this cable to an external thunderbolt 2TB ssd and after each backup, the cable goes back in the package so it hasnt been abused. I didnt even get the use from this cable that I would expect from the cheapest thunderbolt cable on Amazon at 50% of the cost. I purchased this OWC because I wanted something better and longer to replace the cheap 8 thunderbolt cable that was included with the TB ssd- unfortunately, I didnt get a better cable, only a longer cable. I know that there is supposedly a 3 year warranty on this cable but if it didnt even make it 6 months, theres no point in wasting any further time with OWC or this product. At $8.66 for every 5 minutes I it worked, I will call it a lesson learned and move on. (Original 4 star review) I dont really know what to say other than it works on Thunderbolt3 as expected and the price was fair, especially for an OWC product (OWC tends to be pricey). Im using this cable for TB3 right now but wanted to future proof since I suspect my laptop will be replaced in a couple more years and will likely have TB4. I had a very short TB3 cable that came with an external drive and needed something longer so I purchased this. It does the job and the speed is comparable to the other TB3 cable. All good so far and hopefully it will last awhile.

If you need a high bandwidth USB-C cable for a external drive or a webcam, this is the best cable out there. The data throughput is insane. The cable is built to last as well. It is the most expensive...but it is the best available.

Im using this cable to connect an Apple MacBook M1 Pro to a CalDigit TS4 Dock. I havent experienced any connectivity issues with this cable and the its additional length allows for a much easier connect/disconnect of the dock to the laptop. Ive used OWC products (memory, drives, and now this cable) in the past without issue. I trust them and appreciate that they charge a fair price for a high-quality product.

These work great on the Thunderbolt 4 port of my new Mac Studio backing up to a SanDisk Extreme external Hard Drive.

Im the first person to buy everything Apple. Cords, certified cleaning cloth, cases, you get the idea. But I took a chance with this cable and it works great. Build quality and durability are great, and I saved quite a bit.

Ordered 2 of these for some external NVME drives. Right after I ordered them, I saw the new cables rated for 240 Watts came out. Though I did not require them, I appreciate OWC sending me the updated cable, even though the order was for the original 100 Watt ones! Cables are a little stiffer than the previous version, but same quality and good, solid, USB-C connector.
