> 3 dayI picked this up in 2016 as a Christmas gift for my 13 year-old daughter. I was trying to introduce my family to some new board games in an effort to get the kids to spend less time on video games. Pandemic was a hit with my daughter, my 9 year-old son, and myself (unfortunately, my wife refuses to play those weird games). I cant add much more than others have already said. However, since my family was new to cooperative games and this style of game expected that we might have problems understanding the rules which might cause short-attention-span kids to quickly lose interest. To alleviate that I purchased the iPad version and played a few times myself prior to gifting Pandemic to my daughter. It ended up being a great decision on my part and we were able to start paling relatively quickly. I mentioned, we all enjoyed it and my daughter prefers it to Forbidden Island and Ticket to Ride. I enjoy all three, and my 10 year-old son prefers cooperative games such as this. The only downside is that the cooperative component sometimes turns into an argumentative component when theres more than one strong-willed player who thinks their strategy is the best.

> 3 dayI played this with a few of my close friends one night, and we ended up playing the game until 3am. Im not a huge fan of competitive games, so it was great to finally play a cooperative game where youre working together to cure diseases. Each player gets 4 moves per turn, and those moves can be discussed as a team before moving on to the next person. You need to collect cards to cure diseases, so you need to meet up with someone who has a card that you want, but there are rules around how and where you can meet up. There are different roles for each person, so the Dispatcher could fly another persons pawn to a certain city to help them collect cards, or to get them to a research center before another outbreak occurs. The Medic can cure diseases in cities without using an extra turn, if the cure has been found for that disease. Each role is important, but since there are more roles than there are players, the gameplay is different each time you play. For instance, if you decide your end goal is to cure AND eradicate the diseases, not having a Medic could be the deciding factor in whether you win or lose. This game is heavy on strategy, so if you dont normally like those types of games, you may want to find someone who has the game and see if you like it before you buy it. But so far Ive only found one person who didnt care for the game, and we ended up just deciding her moves for her. As a sidenote, the game will also be available on the iPad in a few days (Oct. 3, 2013), so that could be another option to try it out before buying the board game. However, while I will definitely get it for my iPad, I personally prefer physical game boards for a game night with friends and family.

> 3 dayMy boyfriend and I cant stop playing this game! I look forward to purchasing expansion packs in the future. Pandemic is a fun, cooperative board game that requires a great deal of thought and strategy to play. I highly recommend finding some quick YouTube tutorials to get started, as it can be a bit difficult to figure out in the beginning. If youre looking for a new boardgame, you wont be disappointed with Pandemic! I should also add that the game was shipped within 3 days of ordering on Prime, which was much earlier than the expected delivery date. Thanks for the prompt shipping!

> 3 dayIm far from a board games enthusiast, only play a few times a year. This game lit a fire under the figurative board game hobbyist tush. Even better, when I taught my Dad, Mom, and siblings, they got hooked too! Havent tried any expansions, but the base game is great. Highly recommend learning with 2 Epidemic cards as opposed to 3.

> 3 dayOur first game lasted nearly three hours. Half of which was learning the rules. But even that was fun for my sons (11) and (8) to figure out. Now the rules are ingrained and set up much quicker. The challenge is that if more competitive adults (me) took some time to get used to my ideas not always the best. It’s now our go to game for last 2 months and has helped all of us to better listen and explain why of our ideas to each other.

Greater than one weekThis board game is one of my favorites. My favorite aspect is that it is a collaborative game where the group is working towards a single goal. Each player is randomly given a role with a valuable skill to be used during gameplay. This allows for high replay value since the dynamics change each time you play. Learning the rules the first time around is challenging, but if one player knows the rules, teaching it to other new players is fairly straightforward. I have played this game with adults aged 18-60 and everyone has found something to enjoy about it. It takes about an hour to play. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates a board game with some substance! If I were a teacher Id use this game in my classroom. I think it makes excellent use of teamwork and communication skills.

> 3 dayLove this game. Ive heard about it for ages, but wasnt very interested. We bought Dessert Island on a whim and I guess I always figured that this was along that line (extra light). I was wrong. Its not an easy game to win. I like that its fun two person, and I look forward to trying it with more players. I wish that the blue/black cubes had been thought about a bit better; we play on a dark surface and they can be hard to differentiate. Obviously an easy thing to work around, but I sometimes feel that I should come up with SOMETHING that isnt giggles and rainbows to say :)

> 3 dayGreat game for four people. It is a co-op game, so you arent playing against each other, but together to achieve a shared goal. Plenty of ways to lose, and you can adjust how many epidemic cards you include to change the difficulty. Each player has a different role, those roles give them special abilities: Scientist - one less card to cure a disease, Researcher - can give city cards without being in that city, Medic - treat disease with fewer actions, etc. It takes a bit to understand how to play, but once it clicks, you just get it, and it is a lot of fun. Highly recommend it, looking forward to picking up the expansions.
