Fun game. Instructions are a bit confusing. Watched a couple videos on how to play and made things a lot clearer. Would definitely recommend.

Product: I have the second edition, so I do have the small plastic pieces instead of the wooden pieces from the 1st edition. I would have rather enjoyed the wooden pieces, but this is not a big deal to me. The only complaint I have is that the board seems prone to scuffing and scratching because of the way we shuffle and place our cards on the tableau, so you have to take care of it. Play-ability: It is a hard game because you have to work with other people and deal with the initial hand you are dealt with. That means talking things out and making decisions together and sharing information. If you lose, you lose as a team and some of my fellow players tend to put the blame more on one (or two people) than accepting equal loss. Ideally you have the best chance of winning with 4 people; but only because of the hand limit. With fewer players, you tend to discard more city cards just to navigate and reach other players. I have mainly played 2 and 3-player games and there is a lot of more discussion because we are already at a disadvantage and each decision counts. However, you can win no matter the combination, but it is easier to win with certain combinations than others. Replay value: Definitely! Because role cards are randomly selected, people have the opportunity to play different characters. With just the amount of different role combos you can get, with the initial infection city set up, and different number of epidemic cards to place in the player deck, the base game has great replay value. Couple that with the expansions and different scenarios you can add, every Pandemic game progression should be different.

After a couple of trial and errors and reading the instructions at least 3 times over plus keeping them as reference, the game got very fun and my friends and I enjoyed the collaborative and strategic effort! My only complaint is that theres a lot of rules and nuances with the game, and either I can foresee accidentally ripping the instructions or losing them. If they laminated the instructions, it would be more helpful. I scanned the instructions to PDF so that I could keep them as reference just-in-case. All in all, this is way more fun than Risk, but beware that there a lot of little pieces. Its not a game to let around very small children or infants.

Overall game was new upon arrival, arrived on time, and was a delight to play. Does require you to learn a bit first, but once you know it is a great time. Its a game that involves strategy and teamwork of all playing. Would highly recommend.

Our first experience with cooperative board games, we bought this on a whim because Amazon had it on sale. But the other reviews are right: this game is SO MUCH FUN. Absolutely love it....want to try the other versions too eventually, but its a great game for building cooperation. Id even postulate that older kids using this in the classroom as a game to build teamwork skills is definitely a possibility with some adult guidance to learn the game.

Cooperative games are an uncommon breed, but this one pulls it off. I highly recommend watching the Tabletop episode for this game to get a great feeling for it. [...] Make sure to read the rules carefully for deck setup as our first time out I botched it and we ended up with 3 epidemics rather early in the game and lost badly. The time element will sneak up on you faster than the others so keep an eye on the player deck and plan to cure those diseases asap. I hope to try the 5-6 player expansion in the near future, but for a group of 4, this game is worth it. As a note, I got the 2nd edition in late March 2013 and had no issues with the printing of the game or its contents.

I absolutely love this game. Its one of my favorites. Its complex and intriguing with multiple difficulty levels available. There are many different characters to play and tons of scenarios that can develop to keep the game different and interesting every time. The best part is the cooperative gameplay. Thats hard to find in quality games, and its very well done in Pandemic. There is a 4 player limit in the standard version, but its not hard to think up ways to easily play with 4+ or even with just one player. I think the game length is good. My average game is probably around 45 minutes, but we like to debate our strategies quite a bit. You could put a time limit on turns and really speed things up. I think we did a speed round in about 15 minutes once. Youll want to keep the rulebook handy while youre new to the game, and obviously the game takes a bit longer when you need to reference the rules frequently. Overall, could not recommend this game more! Its a great choice. Even losing is fun, maybe even more than winning sometimes.

This game is great we have so much fun just when you think your going to win an outbreak happens and throws everything to the wind you really have to work together to beat the pandemic

Four diseases have broken out in the world and it is up to a team of specialists in various fields to find cures for these diseases before mankind is wiped out. Players must work together playing to their characters" strengths and planning their strategy of eradication before the diseases overwhelm the world with ever-increasing outbreaks. For example the operation specialist can build research stations which are needed to find cures for the diseases. The Scientist needs only 4 cards of a particular disease to cure it instead of the normal 5. But the diseases are out breaking fast and time is running out: The team must try to stem the tide of infection in diseased areas while also towards cures. A truly cooperative game where you all win or you all lose.
