> 24 hourI keep this on the work truck just in case. Luckily I havent needed it yet. Its compact enough to fit under a seat and not take up much room.

> 24 hourCant say if it works or not until I actually need it. It is definitely a fiberglass blanket and has a nice size and weight to it. Larger than I expected. I like that the tabs can be left out of the velcro, to be pulled down easily when needed in an emergency. Everyone is getting these for stocking stuffers this year. Great housewarming gift as well. Safety is a necessity they dont always want to spend money on. I will be purchasing more.

> 24 hourNew -- to us -- house has a huge gas cooktop in the kitchen. It kinda looks commercial. Which is super cool, but theres no commercial overhead fire extinguisher system. This fire blanket gives us another level of protection to the fire extinguisher. Another way to handle a grease fire. Easy to install with a nail or picture hanger, in our case in a storage cabinet at edge of the kitchen. Operation would be fast and easy. All seems good quality. No issues. Hope the picture helps you.

> 24 hourJust like what other reviewers said, it is made out of fiber glass. Unless you open it to put out an actual fire, DO NOT OPEN. These tiny particles get everywhere, giving you splinters and make you suffer for days. Even when I shower it doesnt seem to come off.

> 24 hourHad a small flare up a month ago in a pan on the stove top. It went out quickly on its own, however it got me to thinking about what if it had not. Started looking at these blankets and decided on this one because of the silicone coating over the fiberglass. Seems well made. Hope not to ever need it, but glad to have it.

> 24 hourI recently moved into a new house and realized I needed some sort of fire suppression device (fire extinguisher or fire blanket) since, unsurprisingly, the previous owners didnt leave one. I had the opportunity to try this product and it has already given me such a piece of mind! The product arrived in simple packaging consisting of a clear plastic envelope/enclosure. The instructions for use are right on the outside of the fire blanket cover, so I read through those to familiarize myself with what Id need to do if, god forbid, something in my house caught on fire. Essentially you just pull the straps to get the blanket out from its cover, then throw the blanket over the fire (or wrap up the on-fire person in the blanket) to put the fire out. Because it clearly stated it was made of glass fibers, and as other reviewers have pointed out, unfolding it can cause some splinters, I did not open the blanket. The directions are so straightforward I did not feel it necessary to undo the blanket when I did not need to use it. The blanket seems to conform to modern fire safety standards so that is enough to satisfy me. Overall, this is a great product for roughly $13, and Id recommend it to anyone needing some sort of fire suppression product for their home!
