With this umbrella you press the button to open and press the button to collapse the ribs and then press down on the top of the umbrella with the palm of your hand while holding the handle with your other hand. Press together until you hear a click. The fabric holds around the umbrella easily and the strap has plenty of length to wrap around to secure the fabric. The cover goes on well by twisting. This is a very nice umbrella with wind flaps to help keep it from turning inside out when it is windy. The fabric is on the thicker side and the umbrella is constructed well. The handle is comfortable to hold and has a wrist strap for easy carry when not in use.

I really like how strong this umbrella is. It is not the lightest or most compact umbrella on the market, but this one will likely outlast most other compact umbrellas. I also like the clever wind valve, sewn-in flaps that will open and let air pass before the wind turns the umbrella inside out. I appreciate the solid construction and expect this one to be more durable than many of my past, now damaged compact umbrellas.

My initial impression of this umbrella is highly positive. It seems very sturdy and heavy duty in my hand when I first picked it up. The button is a little touchy though and opened several times when I wasnt trying to open it. The umbrella is nice and compact, yet was bigger when opened than I expected. I think two people could share this umbrella quite nicely. The arms supporting it seem hardy and thick compared to other umbrellas of this size that I own. My only real concern is that the furthest extention of the support arms are barely secured to the canopy. What I mean is that the canopy is held to the arm by only a single attachment point with what appears to be pretty thin threading. This looks like quite a weak point to me, and if anything were going to fail on this umbrella, I bet it will be for the threading at these points to fail. Its kind of a shame that everything else looks and feels so quality, but then this seems like taking short cuts. Hopefully time will prove me wrong and it will hold up quite well. All-in-all it seems like a pretty solid little umbrella.
