This is my second Pelican case for my cell phone while kayaking. The first is 1200, very good, but kind of bulky. This is the perfect size. I use two velcro strips to tie it to the bungee cord in front of the cockpit. The case can hold my SG5 phone with a bulky case and a ring of keys. To prevent overheating under strong direct sunlight, I put a patch of aluminum foil in the lid. But Im sure how effective that will be. Applied a little grease on the locking plastic for easier lock and unlock. Very easy unlock to take the phone out, and put it back in and lock. I have tried a few alternatives, such as waterproof case, ziplock bag, etc. This case is the most effective solution for kayaking. But Ive NOT tested it in the capsizing situation. I think it will be fine as long as it is locked tight and not submerged in water more than a little while before I can upright the boat and get back.

Small case to keep phone and car keys protected when kayaking. Simple latch and very sturdy.

Bought it at Walmart and put in a sink filled with water at home for 9 hours. No water got inside the yellow case, but there is water leaked into the area between yellow case and outer clear case. Maybe from pressure valve. Disappointed.

Works well so far

Brilliant case! sturdy, easy to see the contents and I feel secure using them with expensive equipment. Accept no substitutes to Pelican quality!

Does exatly as it says in the description and a perfect size for my needs, any better and it would have been made for purpose.

Received wrong product, i orderes the clear case with black rubbee insert and received and all black case. I ordered the same product a few weeks earlier and got the correct one and when i was happy with that i decided to order a second one because i am making my groomsman boxes with them. I will just go try and find a matching box at a local store then deal with contacting the seller and having to ship stuff back. The product is great, its a real pelican, the only reason is because of getting the wrong product the second time ordering.
