I like these little printers because you don’t have to worry about buying ink!

This is an awesome little unit. Very defined printing and high quality labels. If i were to change anything about this device it would be to include a PC app and/or to include the ability to use the app without internet connectivity, that being said- i am extremely impressed and happy with this device.

Current price point at the time/date of this review: $42.99 with a $5 off coupon provided by the seller. This seemed to bump up in price by nearly $6 within the span of several days to week(s) ago. Nevertheless, the price is reasonable. I own several of these types of portable thermal label printers, and one (or more) in the exact same model/specs. Overall I’m really impressed with the small size and form factor with this one. ADDITIONAL NOTES What I’m particularly fond of is the extremely light weight and portable design. The form factor is great, basically a bevelled square. Works as it should, and comes with all the common features you come to expect with these types of portable label printers. The app offers plenty of selections, and meets expectations for a label printer of this size/price available on Amazon. There are plenty of these types of printers on Amazon, but the Q30S is a distinguished model. It’s a safe buy. I also managed to find label refills on Amazon designed for the Q30 and Q30S. I got it for a little less than $20. And yes, you’ll definitely want to consider the cost of refilling the labels when considering a unit such as these. Great stuff.

This label maker is very compact and light but well-built and fairly attractive. One of its strong points is that it can be powered by either 4 AAAs (not included) or through a USB-C cable (included) although it does not come with a wall charger. It does include a roll of 12mm x 40mm white adhesive vinyl labels. It requires the Print Master app which connects to the printer through Bluetooth. The app has a simple and fairly intuitive interface (see photo) and offers some basic design options in Lite Mode ( text direction, fonts size adjustment, left-aligned, centred or right-aligned text, Bold, Italic or Underline and several downloadable typefaces) or more complex options in Creation Mode, including the use of icons, geometric shapes and even QR and barcodes - pretty impressive. The printer can only print in black and uses thermal transfer so there is no actual ink. The advantages are that there is no need to wait for the ink to dry, it does not smudge and is always sharp. The printing is also very fast, almost instantaneous. The adhesive on the label is strong enough to stay in place even on glass but, if needed, can still be peeled off and repositioned on non-porous surfaces. Overall, this label maker works very well and can be pretty handy around the house for anything from spice jars to storage boxes to document folders. However, at $45, it is slightly pricey and its refills are not very cheap either (around $18 for a pack of 3 rolls) so that is why it is not getting a 5-Star rating.

Journaling has become my obsession for the last few years and I am always looking for fun ways to add to my latest hobby. This label maker is such a cute way to add personalized banners and labels to my journals. Easy to use. It does only print in black and white, but still its a neat label maker.

The device is not turning on at all. Even when I plug it in. How could I get it to work?

I tried to watch YouTube videos to see if I was doing anything wrong with the labels, but I feel like this printer was defective. I’m really disappointed that I can’t use this printer. I the app is easy to use, but the print outs are very frustrating when it won’t feed the labels like it says it should.

The Phomemo Q30S Mini Label Maker Machine is perfect for making labels quickly anyplace. The printer is not much bigger than a hockey puck. The unit uses the app “Print Master” to print the labels. Once the printer is paired with your phone you can print labels anywhere. This printer is easy to use and so portable I recommend you give this one a try.
