> 24 hourUPDATE MAY 2023- This bench is proving to be an excellent investment! No sign of wear or water damage, and most importantly: NO MOLD whatsoever! Its so sturdy that Ive considered getting one to use in the garden. After dealing with mold/mildew issues with several wood (bamboo, acacia, teak) shower benches, we got a plastic one. Weve had it about 5 years and it has not shown any sign of water related problems, but MAN is it ugly. It makes the whole bathroom feel a bit tacky. A lightbulb illuminated over my head after we had a TREX deck built this spring. Knowing there a several manufacturers who make outdoor furniture from a similar lumber produced in the U.S.A. using recycled plastic bottles, I figured there had to be a shower bench made using this type of lumber. Surprisingly, this is the ONLY ONE I found. It had NO reviews at the time, and wasnt Prime. Never having heard of this company, I crossed my fingers as I ordered it. Thankfully, it arrived within a reasonable time and had been nicely packaged for its travel from China. I laid out all the pieces that were included in the box: a slightly curved top, a straight shelf, 4 legs (w/levelers attached) a card with the hardware shrink wrapped to it, a fine-grit sanding block, and the instruction sheet. My photo of all the pieces has two asterisk [ * and **] footnotes to help you with assembly. Since the seat has a bit of a curve, the tops of the legs are cut at a slight angle in order to sit flush against the underside of the seat and tightly against the crossbar/frame under the seat. A quick inspection will show that this means there is a difference in the right and left (or front and back) legs. So... if the leg doesnt sit flush when you hold it in place and the holes dont line up with the threaded inserts, just move it to a different corner where it does fit. Once you have that figured out, go ahead and attach the four legs but only screw in the bolts with your hands. If it feels tight, DO NOT force it because you dont want to strip the threads. It might take a couple of attempts to get it in perfectly straight but, once you do, it will turn easily with just your fingertips. After the 8 bolts have been screwed in, then go back with the included Allen wrench/hex key and tighten them. That’s it, you are done with assembly and all you need to do is place your bench. If needed, you can adjust the little black levelers so that your bench sits perfectly still without rocking. Typing up this review took twice as long as the actual process of unpacking, unwrapping, and assembling this bench. I love how it looks and how sturdy it is. The only improvement I would suggest is adding some other color options. A weathered teak (with a silvery gray finish) is an option I believe would be very popular.

> 24 hourHard to tell it is not real wood unless you look closely. Comfortable and sturdy. Should last for years outdoors with zero maintenance. Easy assembly with 8 hex bolts and provided hex tool. The only thing to watch out for is the end legs are cut at an angle at the top to match the curvature of the seat and go in specific right and left locations.

> 24 hourOrdered this bench to avoid the care and maintenance of a teak shower bench. Was skeptical of what it would actually be when it arrived. It arrived in a box labeled Heavy and the weight of it surprised me. Opening the box was another pleasant surprise. It is hard to see that it is not real wood. Its weighty like wood, almost feels like wood and is sturdy, stable and seems to strong like wood. Very happy with my choice, hopefully as time goes on this will continue to be true but all indications are that this bench will be exactly what I was hoping.

> 24 hourI purchased this shower stool because I fell recently, and broke my right humerus. I have balance problems due to MS and cannot use the tub/shower combo in my bathroom safely right now. It still was easy to assemble and very sturdy. It looks great in my shower and I don’t feel like it’s going to tip over when I am showering and washing my hair. It is hard to believe that it’s not wood because it certainly looks like it, even up close. The stool does not wobble on the shower floor and it is easy to wash off after showering should’ve gotten one years ago.

> 24 hourAfter reading many reviews, I was concerned about getting any type of wood shower bench that would hold up. This is the perfect option! The material really does look like wood and doesn’t look like a plastic imitation! It looks beautiful, is sturdy and comfortable, great size and the rubber feet keep it securely in place. Assembly was so simple, took ten minutes. I can use it in or out of the shower. Definitely the right choice!

> 24 hourI really wanted a bench for the shower but read review after review of teak and bamboo benches and I knew I wasnt going to wipe it down after each use. I wanted something easier to maintain and so far this is it!

> 24 hourI do not want to get a shower bench that is made with wood products. I know Teak is probably the best choice if I want a wood bench. It is water and mold resistance but it is not water and mold proof. A plastic bench/stool would be more carefree but it does not look as good. I want a carefree shower bench that looks nice. This Psilvam Poly Lumber Shower Bench meets my requirements. It is made with Polystyrene. I have to Google to find out what is Polystyrene and its characteristics. Polystyrene is resin and it is relatively chemically inert. It is waterproof and resistant to a lot of acids and bases. However, it dissolves in acetone and chlorinated solvents. So, as long as cleaning this shower bench with soap and water, it would be fine. I am pleasantly surprised how good this bench look. It looks better than the pictures. It looks and feels like it is made with solid teak. It assembled easily and is very stable. The Non-slip Feet is a nice touch. The plastic feet are height adjustable. This is important as the floor of my shower is not level as in most if not all shower floors. It is by design that the floor slopes towards the drain. With adjustable feet, this bench could be set level and stable. There was a little sanding block included and I sanded one edge just to see what would happen. This Polystyrene sanded just like wood. There is no paint or external finish and no change of color when sanded. This Psilvam Poly Lumber Shower Bench is just as expensive as a comparable teak bench but I would still prefer this. The reason is this Poly Lumber material would probably outlast teak and is as maintenance free as possible. It looks nice and is well made. Footnote: - While it is quite easy to assemble this bench, the legs need to be matched to the bottom contour of seat. The top of the legs are not flat, the longer side should be oriented at the outside.

> 24 hourI really like this seat. Looks like it will last a very long time. The plastic wood is the best Ive ever seen as far as looking like real wood. Id love if the manufacture made a square one with the depth being the width also. We have a large shower and this larger rectangular one fits great, but it is a bit larger than we would have needed. The offering of a square one would have been the one I bought. Since it is not available, this rectangular one is excellent.
