22-04-2025Bought this game to play with my brothers and they enjoyed it a lot. Learning the game went smoothly. The instructions were clear and detailed. First game took 2hours. Every game afterwards took between 1 hour to 1.5hour. Would definitely reccomend this game to others and those who are beginnners.

> 3 dayWe love this game. We purchased Shipwrights of the North Sea first, and I think I like it a bit more than Raiders, but I thoroughly enjoy this one. The artwork is beautiful and we really like the theme. It’s a great worker placement game. We plan to get the third in the trilogy to complete the set, soon.

> 3 dayMy friends and I love this game. There’s a lot of strategy and is simple for new players to learn. I can’t wait to try the expansions!

> 3 dayWhether a game is easy or difficult to learn is relative to how much game boarding you do. I would say this was medium difficult to learn—about the equivalent of learning Wingspan, maybe slightly more complex. And similar set up time for the game. For new players, it was quite slow moving at the beginning, and lots of confusion—even after we all watched a Youtube video explaining it. A few players were ready to abandon it after 45 minutes or so. But the game did speed up, and as players caught on, it became more interesting. I’m sure subsequent plays would move much faster. There were a lot of actions/potential actions on the cards that never came into play for any players, and it was hard for me to see that they would ever be significant, even for experienced players. So I would say the game seems unbalanced. The game might be improved by streamlining the options. The version I played had really nice quality coins/meeples/objects, but I think it might have been a Kickstarter version. One really bad decision the game designers made was to make the “workers” black, gray, and white, with the “black workers” doing most of the menial tasks, and the “white workers” necessary for doing the high level raiding. Too many times in the game players uttered things like “I can’t do that, I only have a black worker,” or “I really need a white worker.” Really, they couldn’t have anticipated this and made the workers magenta, teal and orange, or some other color scheme?

22-04-2025Who does not love a Viking theme:) The artwork is beautiful. The components are of a good quality. I like the metal coins! Packed out on the table it looks inviting! It is easy to setup and to learn. And its a wonderful game to play because its so immersive. Its enjoyable from start to finish and every time you play it. Every game I played was nail biting and every time I brought it to the table the crowd loved it. Works well as as a 2 and as a 4 player game. Dont hesitate, go get a copy and start raiding the North Sea!

Greater than one weekWe are pretty avid gamers and this one hits the spot. Wanted a worker placement game and debated between this and Lords of Waterdeep for a while. This game plays really well with only 2p and I would imagine it translates seamlessly to 4p. Watch a 15 min YouTube video on how to play it and it’s not hard at all to learn, but still a little complex. I’d say it’s more so for people who play games pretty regularly. Overall, very happy with this purchase. Really looking forward to the 2 expansions that get great reviews. OH! And the solid metal coins. Every game should have these. Amazing.

Greater than one weekI showed my wife a video review for this game and I took her, That looks pretty cool. to mean, You should totally get on Amazon and buy that game right now! So I did. It turns out this worker-placement game focused on raiding a neighboring countryside and making offerings to your chieftain is the perfect blend of strategy and luck for us. The rulebook is clearly laid out and nicely illustrated, the components (especially the silver coins) are high quality, and the artwork on the cards is wonderful. I cant recommend this one enough if you like medium-light worker-placement games.

> 3 dayGreat strategic worker placement game, turns go pretty fast and for us the game takes around an hour to play. Love the natural progression built into the game - you’ll be able to see your raiding targets from the outset, but you’ll have to spend turns upgrading your Viking’s equipment, hiring stronger crew, and building up a warchest of resources if you want to be able to take home the plunder. The game is competitive and there’s a small element of “take that!” in some of the cards but generally your interactions with your opponents will be more subtle, depriving them of key resources and actions rather than outright war as you race to see who will be the strongest, most glorious, and most favored by the chieftain.
