The best expansion set ever! So many options. Easy and understandable cards - great new ways to scheme and win ... and lose. Better be an experienced player though, or youll lose your shirt. Strategy x100!! LOVE IT. (No base cards - this is an expansion for the original Dominion)

awesome expansion to an awesome game. I love dominion and this game does a little more of a lot of old favorites. Orange action cards that stick around are back as are victory tokens! The new debt mechanic is pretty sweet too

A fun new expansion to freshen dominion! I highly suggest this one along with prosperity. Empires brings new ways to buy and earn victory points

Wow! Talk about a game changing expansion. Empires may very well be the best Dominion expansion ever. For the record, I have played thousands of games of Dominion with all the expansions. Adventures blew me away with the introduction of Events, and the Traveller cards (primarily Peasant) but Empires takes things to a whole other level. Landmarks change the game in a way that has never happened before. The alternate paths to victory make you see things in a new light. Lots of cards involve gaining victory tokens which force you to play the game differently. There are also some very strong cards that are a lot of fun. For instance, Fortune, the bottom card of a split pile doubles your money. And, let me tell you, doubling your money is a huge deal. We also get an Event that allows everyone to trash their entire deck!!! That card is insane. Debt allows you to buy certain cards earlier, but the question is, do you want them right away. And, some cards have split piles, forcing you to try to reach the second half of the pile to usually get to something better. I could go on describing why Empires is such a fun expansion, but Im going to end my review here. Do I recommend getting this expansion, absolutely.

This expansion plays really well with the other sets. Some of the Landmark cards have made completely different win conditions for a refresh on the game. This expansion is our 5th addition to our set.

The world is big and your kingdom gigantic. It"s no longer a kingdom really; it"s an empire. Which makes you the emperor. This entitles you to a better chair, plus you can name a salad after yourself. It"s not easy being emperor. The day starts early, when you light the sacred flame; then it"s hours of committee meetings, trying to establish exactly why the sacred flame keeps going out. Sometimes your armies take over a continent and you just have no idea where to put it. And there"s the risk of assassination; you have a food taster, who tastes anything before you eat it, and a dagger tester, who gets stabbed by anything before it stabs you. You"ve taken to staying at home whenever it"s the Ides of anything. Still overall it"s a great job. You wouldn"t trade it for the world - especially given how much of the world you already have.
