Rothco Canvas Zipper Duffle Bag

> 3 dayWell-made, sturdy, not skimpy in dimensions at all. High-quality fabric, zippers, and sewing. A pleasant surprise in fact. Bought as a transporter for a nice 4 x 6 Oriental rug.

Greater than one weekThis review is based on an old Rothco duffle I have, which is the reason I bought another! These bags are made of heavy material and over the course of several years of jamming the first one with all kinds of stuff, throwing it into car trunks, onto concrete, wooden, and asphalt floors that first bag has suffered zero rips, tears, failed seams, nor have any of the handles or d-rings failed in any way. The dual zippers have also held up and still work smoothly too. I guess the best recommendation I can give is that I bought a second one. So why did I only give it 4-stars in value? Because it does not come with a shoulder strap; had to buy one separately. If Rothco would include a shoulder strap this duffle would be perfect!

> 3 dayThis seems to be a very sturdy, well constructed heavy duty canvas bag. The zipper is heavy duty also and it seems well made with good sewing done at the seems. The carry handle also looks like it will never wear out. We got the 30x50 bag (#3490) and it is HUGE! We got this to replace a tent bag that tore by the carry handles and then had a zipper break. I probably could have gotten by with the 25x42 bag but did not want to risk finding out it was a hair too small. Very pleased with this product! The good reviews were true!

> 3 dayThis is a big bag. I did not realize how big it would be from the description but jeeze, its big. Either way, it fit all my stuff and held together nicely. Surprised by the quality for the price.

> 3 dayReally holds a lot. 21 x 36 can be checked in on an airline. Not too sure about the bigger one. Weighs less than a suitcase so youre less likely to end up with those baggage fees. Seems like it will last a long time.

> 3 dayOur outdoor Christmas decorations feature inflatables. We wanted something that breathed to store them. Some are 15 tall, hence the need for a Really big Bag. The biggest one of these was plenty big. The only confusion is you have to look closely at what youre ordering. You get only one bag (not the three pictured) and it isnt completely obvious on the ordering screen at first. The bag, however, was fabulous.

> 3 dayI purchased these to help with storing an artificial Christmas tree in an attic. The tree comes in three parts and the original bag we had for it put all 3 in one bag which made it incredibly bulky and a little bit unwieldy to wrestle into the attic. These bags worked great for separating the two smaller sections into their own bag. Unfortunately the company doesnt make a bag thats long enough to store the third piece so Im still stuck with the original oversized bag but at least its not so difficult to maneuver now. Im so happy with these bags that my only downside is that they dont make a larger/longer size because I would have purchased it in an instant if they did. The two carry handles, one on the top of the bag and one along the side, make it very convenient for getting the bags into and out of the attic. The material is very durable and has held up well so far.

> 3 dayThe Rothco duffel bag 21x 36 is well made, stitching is solid, the zipper closure isnt YKK but its sturdy enough for my needs. My only complaint...the bag arrived damaged. It arrived in a plastic package and upon picking it up off my porch I immediately noticed a clean slice through the package. I knew it was the result of an over zealous worker at the delivery location or by the carrier (Amazon). I opened the package and my suspicion was confirmed. Near the zipper closure was a clean 3 slice lengthwise. I turned over the bag and found another on the opposite side approx. 3 in length. Disappointing? Yes, but I knew I could repair it. I stitched two patches using 800 denier material and its good as new. Should this deter you from purchasing this duffel bag? No, it was an accident. The bag is well worth the price. I didnt feel the need to return it considering I could repair it, and the bag would be used for camping. The patches actually give the bag character.

Greater than one weekThe size I ordered is listed as 21x36, which is practically a lie. Its barely 36 long if you stretch the side handles, I suppose, so I can live with that. But 21 is a ridiculous way to describe a bag that has a 12 diameter when full. If you lay the bag flat and stretch it out, its maybe 20 wide but that is a COMPLETELY EMPTY, flat bag. Imagine if you listed a cardboard box by its flat dimensions and the actual folded box was half as wide; this is basically the same thing. Quality seems acceptable, not super heavy-duty, but that is fine for the price. I was hoping for a slightly more robust zipper. I bought this because I have a large tent with a bag that is nearly impossible to fit it back into (of course). I measured my stuffed tent bag at about 12x34, so I looked at this and thought 21x36 would be significantly bigger. Nope, its really almost identical in size to my dumb tent bag. Returning, and very reluctant to exchange for the next size up because of this deception.

> 3 dayTHERE ARE NO REINFORCEMENT SEEMS RUNNING AROUND THE GIRTH OF THE BAG, AT EACH END. FORTUNATELY, CANVAS IS STRONG ON ITS OWN AND WILL LAST A FAIR LENGTH OF TIME DEPENDING ON USE. THEY DO NOT INCLUDE THE CARRYING HANDLE, WHICH I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY.
