I absolutely love this thing so far. It really just is a great keyboard. I love the form factor. It has all the keys of a full size keyboard, while being a more compact size. As a whole I hate linear switches though Im not sure if its the keyboard material or the gaterons, but these are less irritating than cherry reds. While aesthetically purple and off green wouldnt be my choice, it works on this keyboard better than Id expected. The variety of connectivity is excellent. Bluetooth has 3 profiles that you can switch between, and the 2.4 dongle has a nice hiding spot on the bottom of the keyboard. They cable that comes with the keyboard is very nicely matched and is of decent quality. The option of hotswappable keyswitches was my favorite option. Once I find my preferred switch I will swap them all out. Also the tools for pulling keycaps and switches are much nicer than the cheap ones that usually come with cheap keyboards. In terms of build quality this thing is a beast. Extremely solid and quite heavy. I assume it has some kind of metal plate/support build in. The keycaps, while not my preferred shape, have a great feel to them and dont clack as loud as some of my other keyboards. Lastly the RGB is decent. As far as keyboard RGB with built in controls, it is on the better end. The keys are fairly intuitive and its got a decent variety of functions. As a whole this keyboard is better than I could have expected for the price. The feel and function so far is great. Personally I cant wait to get the switches swapped out and have the optimal keyboard. Edit: While I still do quite like the feel and function of the keyboard, the hotswappable feature seems not great to me. I had hoped to swap these switches out for some nice tactile switches specifically I had picked out and bought some Zealios v2 78g switches. I didnt realize until I went to start swapping switches that, while the switches are compatible with the 5 pin layout, the leds on the board protrude and interfere with my new switches. This as a whole wouldnt be quite so upsetting to me if it had been mention at all in the listing, but all it says is 3 and 5 pin compatibility. Now Ive got over $100 worth of switches that I just cant use because the listing is non specific about its compatibility. In the end I still love the feel and function of this keyboard as a whole. However, it is extremely frustrating that, while I did check to verify compatibility on the switches before buying new ones, I am unable to use my new switches due to a completely different unlisted compatibility issue.

Right from the unboxing, you get the feeling of a premium product without the pricetag to match. Beautiful construction and high quality printing. Just a gorgeous little keyboard. I work from home and I have a Mac, PC, and Chromebook side by side. I also like to play PC games, so I was intrigued to try using one keyboard across my 3 operating systems. The wireless USB receiver went into the Mac, the USB cable went into the PC, and I set up the keyboard via Bluetooth on the Chromebook. Needless to say, it worked flawlessly. The biggest issue was remembering which hotkey connected to the correct platform. I started to miss my F key row after awhile simply from using them so much every day, so I dont think this setup is ideal for me but hey, its possible if thats what youre looking to do. As for gaming, its very responsive and I didnt enter any ghosting or missed inputs. The thock of each keystroke was satisfying to the ears and I swear I was typing faster at the end of the day. I hadnt tried any of the mechanical keyboards from Royalaxe, but Im definitely looking forward to seeing what else they put out.

This ROYALAXE X ProtoArc R68 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard, Hot-swappable Wired/Bluetooth 5.0 is a fantastic wireless keyboard that would make any mechanical keyboard enthusiast happy. My first impressions of this keyboard were from unboxing it and hooking it up to use for the first time, theres 3 options for connecting this keyboard, either wireless through Bluetooth, wireless with the included dongle, or wired which is self-explanatory. This keyboard has a great heft to it that allows it to sit in place as you bang out keys on the linear Gateron Yellow switches. Throughout this keyboard I kept finding things that impressed me, like how smooth the switches were, or how high of quality the keycaps were. Ive built my own mechanical keyboards before, and Ive bought premade keyboards from basically every big name or little name player on the market, and this keyboard just kept reaffirming decisions I wouldve made had I made this keyboard myself. Almost every bit of this keyboard is well thought out and remarkably high quality, from the hot swappable switches, to the silky-smooth feel of the lubed switches, all the way down to the well done lighting and other visual goodies. Ive never heard of this company before this keyboard, but Im certainly taking notice now that I have. This is one of the best prebuilt mechanical keyboards Ive tested or owned, and in fact its the keyboard Im using to write this review on. Another aspect that I havent touched on yet but is probably important to mention is the smaller footprint of this keyboard since its only got 68 keys instead of the much larger full-size keyboards that have every key and numpad. I feel like 68 keys is a great middle ground between the much larger keyboards and the very minimalist keyboards that Ive tried but just have never liked having to set up so many commonly used keys to macros or other workarounds. This keyboard has everything I tend to use frequently, and the smaller size allowed me some extra room on my desk which is quite nice. Overall, this is an exceptional keyboard that does pretty much everything right and has surprised me daily with how good it has been to use and just how fun it is to type on it, especially as someone who wasnt a fan of linear switches prior to using this keyboard. This is a top-notch keyboard that I would highly recommend to enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike. 5/5 stars.

I have gone through a few different keyboards lately and by far this is the best! I love how many devices it can pair to and how easy it is to toggle between them. The clicking isn’t an overly obnoxious noise and you still get that amazing click feeling when you type. The changing lights is a fun bonus not to mention how adorable the brown is. Highly recommend this keyboard!

First of all - the color is stunning and a whole vibe. Secondly, I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD. I seldomly get this excited over anything but its totally worth every penny. Its a little heavy compared to my other keyboards but I appreciate that. The keyboard has a Bluetooth function that worked seamlessly! Its rare anything I own with Bluetooth doesnt have some type of issue. The keys on this keyboard click incredibly pleasantly and smoothly - both for feeling and hearing. I had to adjust a bit because its a smaller keyboard but I really enjoy the clicking and the way it feels when I type. Its definitely not a loud mechanical one so if youre looking for that this isnt the one for you. I think if Id order it again Id get the bigger size!

I am writing this review with this keyboard specifically. Things of note - The backspace key is 1U. This took me surprisingly little time to get used to. I think it helps that the controls for the keyboard are next to it so that even if you miss the key, you wont accidentally hit something else. They could have squeezed another U in there if they had made the controls smaller. There is no adjustment for tilt, it is pretty aggressive out of the box, but I find that this is very comfortable to type on. Ive been using this keyboard for work for the past two days and have had no issues. Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz, and wired connectivity work just as you expect them to work. NKRO in wired and wireless modes. North facing LEDs Some XDA like profile, very easy to type on. Double-shot keycaps. These are Gateron yellow switches, but they have been pre lubed. The stabs have been lubed as well. This is the nicest sounding sub 70 dollar keyboard I have used in a long time. The case is plastic, but it is a thicc plastic. Has a good thocc. They include a plastic keyboard cover, which I think was more for shipping than for use afterwards, but it works when you want to have a snack at the desk without worrying about crumbs. Also included is a purple color matching USB C cable. I wish it had a better battery indicator. With my machine (Windows 11) it seems to report battery levels, but they are a bit erratic when lower than 10%. The only physical level indicator on the keyboard itself is a low battery indicator on the keyboard. The rotating selector switch is nice, but it is a bit crunchy. It almost has extra detents that are close to the selections that you would make. I found that if you are close to your selection, it still works. There is a small slot on the keyboard for storing the 2.4Ghz dongle, which I LOVE. The software for this machine, which can be found on the mfg website, has all of the features I would want. You can adjust the 2.4 and BT sleep settings independently from each other (LED sleep, and keyboard sleep) You can be more specific on the LED colors within the software as well. It does request a firewall exception, however I have not looked into it. It does offer update capabilities for keyboard firmware and software (neither available at the time of this review) Most keyboard that I get that are sub 80 dollars usually make me want to open them up within a few hours of receiving them to mod and tinker. I havent gotten the urge to open this one at all. If there were a better device level battery indicator, a bit more room for adjustment for tilt, and better windows reporting of battery, I would give 5 stars.

    Greater than one week

It was heavier than what Im used to, and it felt comfortable to the touch. A definite upgrade compared to what I used to have. Id say that Ill probably buy this again if I were to choose.

It’s more like a muted keyboard, the quality of it is amazing.
