No 1/2 valve in box, had to buy one from the big box store. Not what was described or pictured

I added a hose bib and an Orbit hose timer in place of the pvc ball valve. Backwash automatically for one minute every seven days. regular battery has lasted over a year so far on Orbit timer.

This is a quality filter that works very well with a shallow well pump.

Im on a well system and this does a good job of filtering out the sand. Im using it outside to filter the water on a hose so that I can use the sprayer and sprinklers without them clogging up. Im confident enough to use this filtered waster to wash the car. The drain make it easy to dump the sand periodically. Nice product and I plan to add one to my house as a pre screen to my whole house filter.

Works exactly as expected - very satisfied.

The picture clearly shows the unit with the purge valve. The box shows the unit with the purge valve. The instructions show the unit with a purge valve. And the parts list lists the purge valve. The Rusco Spin Down Separator I received did not come with the purge valve so I had to make a special trip into town to the hardware store to buy the purge valve -- for $4.59. This is not right.

I am a rainwater contractor and I use these often. They are wonderful! They keep your pump from getting larger debris into the pump.

Turned out this was unnecessary for my application (water purification in Puerto Rico). I thought this would help eliminate the thicker particles but it turns out that this will just reduce your water pressure with no noticeable improvement in water quality. Luckily it wasnt terribly expensive so I just gave it to a friend who lives in a location with rougher water.
