It does filter very well. I changed the pvc valve to a brass valve to make it easier to turn. The pvc valve is a bit harder and other reviewers mentioned breaking the housing with it. It does not self clean at all tho. I take it apart each time.

I added a hose bib and an Orbit hose timer in place of the pvc ball valve. Backwash automatically for one minute every seven days. regular battery has lasted over a year so far on Orbit timer.

I am pushing about 12 gal/min through this. I have 2 sediment traps in the line because this didnt seem to stop much. Both have a 100 mesh screen. The 2nd trap stops more than this. I was going to change to 100 mesh followed by a finer mesh but not sure I can do that now.

After horrible experience with a twistiiclean filter, I finally replaced with this Rusco filter. Its very well constructed; you can tell the minute you pick it up. Unlike other filters requiring disassembly for cleaning, the flush valve at the bottom is super convenient! 5 stars! TIP: I recommend getting an 90-degree elbow fitting for the bottom and attaching a short hose so that the water goes where you want it when you flush the filter.

Filters good but much to small for whole house application raised my pump amps by around 2 amps.

Item shipped fast and as described, complete with filter, valve and thread tape. Quality product, best thing is, its made in the USA, in central Florida even.

I was having a problem with the hose connector filter on a watering timer becoming clogged regularly with sediment particles from my well. I bought this Rusco sediment filter to precede the timer and clear the sediment before it got to the timers filter. It was not initially successful because it turned out there was a lot of very fine sediment and this was clogging the Rusco with its 100 mesh filter unnecessarily and needing to be cleared almost daily, although the very fine sediment would not have been a problem to the timer and would have passed its filter. I replaced the 100 mesh with a 40 mesh filter in the Rusco and it now does the job of protecting the timer perfectly.

This is an important piece in my well filtration. Having researched many units I found this one to be the price for what I received.
