Rusco/Vu-Flow 1 100 Mesh Spin Down Sediment Water Filter System

I am a rainwater contractor and I use these often. They are wonderful! They keep your pump from getting larger debris into the pump.

Initially the incorrect part was sent, however, I reorder and the correct part was sent in a few days.

The reason I only gave this three stars and not more is because the filter worked awesome until the inlet nut cracked after 24 hours and practically flooded my basement.

This works great and is a must have for any well system before water hits a whole house filter. I used them on two well installations.

Item shipped fast and as described, complete with filter, valve and thread tape. Quality product, best thing is, its made in the USA, in central Florida even.

It does filter very well. I changed the pvc valve to a brass valve to make it easier to turn. The pvc valve is a bit harder and other reviewers mentioned breaking the housing with it. It does not self clean at all tho. I take it apart each time.

Im on a well system and this does a good job of filtering out the sand. Im using it outside to filter the water on a hose so that I can use the sprayer and sprinklers without them clogging up. Im confident enough to use this filtered waster to wash the car. The drain make it easy to dump the sand periodically. Nice product and I plan to add one to my house as a pre screen to my whole house filter.

Used it for my outdoor hydro farm that kept getting junk in it that fell from trees and would then clog my sprayers. This has worked wonders and kept it from getting in. Only problem with it is algae growth due to sunlight but thats not a problem with their product.

We have had this installed for about a week a now. It works better than expected. Thats the good news, and the bad news. Our water is crystal clear, but we have a lot of sand in the water from the well so I have to clear out the filter once a day. Prior to purchasing this, we spent a lot of money replacing shower, tub, sink valves and spouts due to the sand build up. This will help a lot with that. It does work, and since it works, if you have sediment in your water, you will have to clear the filter as frequently as the sediment builds up so install it in the most convenient place that you can for clearing the filter. PROS: It works great! CONS: It works great!

I used this on a sprinkler pump in Florida and a week after install the filter is completely clogged with Algae. If the filter is in bright sunshine, cover the clear tube with a black inner bicycle tire tube or a black thick sock or stocking or even AC coolant line insulation. The sunlight causes the algae to grow and clog frequently. They sell a sunshade as an add-on but it should come with an opaque cover by default.
