This drive has USB 3.1 which means my older laptop with USB 3.0 cannot see it. Its very fast, compact, and 1TB is a lot of storage. I like having it.

This SSD is light and compact. I have yet to check its speed against what had been advertised, but its as fast as I need it to be.

Works good

I bought this SSD because I read lots of good things about it and trusted all the reviews. The drive itself was great while it worked, but unfortunately after 11 months the drive died. Ive never had this happen to me, Ive purchased many SSD drives over the years. I consider this just dumb luck, and perhaps just a faulty drive so no big deal since it states there is a 36 month warranty. Unfortunately Samsung Canada says they dont deal with warranties, and they say its the responsibility of the retailer to handle warranty situations. In this case, Amazon is the retailer and Amazon tells me they only handle warranties of Amazon branded product and I need to talk to Samsung. So both companies are telling me to contact the other one and no one will take responsibility for the warranty. So at this point I have a dead SSD and it doesnt look like Im getting a replacement/repair. Also apparently this applies to ALL Samsung products, so beware buying any Samsung brand products from Amazon, purchase from a store instead so you can return it. I dont have a problem with Samsung products I think theyre great, just the warranty situation with Amazon is the problem. Im not sure why Samsung sells products on Amazon is this is the case.

Had to replace worn out Samsung drive on a Alienware laptop. Original SSD started giving disk errors after 8 years of service. Huge difference in performance. Very fast. The Samsung clone software works perfectly. You have to download the software from Web.

I have an older Dell E-6430 Latitude laptop that comes with a slide out H.D. mounting system. I loaded this one with B.S.D. (Unix) since it has a learning curve. When set up right its the most hack resistant OS available.
