This was easy to install, easy to setup and transfer speeds are higher than factory drive.

It works perfectly and I would bypass the 1 TB and buy the 2 TB I know cause a little bit more but it’s worth every penny you don’t even have to worry about having extra space.

Honestly, not a single complaint. Definitely worth every penny. Quick, easy to manage, and very reliable.

For anyone on the fence about this drive. Dont be. Its extremely fast in the areas that count. It has very high IOPS and incredibly low latency which overall gives a very responsive OS feel.

Great drive, I recorded 2244 MB/s read and 2180 MB/s write speed in external ACASIS 40Gbps NVMe Enclosure.

For DL data sets. MSI Z690-P board came with standoffs and screws for M.2 sockets, the 980 had none, just the SSD with heatsink. I plugged it in, secured it with the screw, booted the system (Win 11), initialized the SSD, added a volume, and was done. Winsat showed 3716 MB/s random read, 7143 MB/s sequential read, 2306 MB/s sequential write, about 10 times faster than my older Crucial SATA SSD. Im very satisfied. Heatsink made sense, based on previous experience with a Mac SSD; there are inexpensive 3rd party heat sinks, but I opted for the Samsung built-in one.

My wife and I have been using two units of Samsung Galaxy Book Flex since 2020. Initially, they came with Intel SSD 660p, possibly due to cost-down measure. The problem, however, was that the SSDs became slower than the moment we purchased. Especially my wifes Galaxy was problemetic; it took 45 minutes to scan her SSD (approx. 32 GBs loaded in a 512-GB SSD) with her antivirus app this year, which was almost twice as long as the case last year. Thus, I decided to replace Intel SSD with Samsung SSD 980 Pro.

Unleash the power of the world’s No.1 memory flash drive brand since 2003. Samsung 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD for next-level computing delivers twice the data transfer rate of PCIe 3.0, while maintaining compatibility with PCIe 3.0. Experience SSD performance with read speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s² and push the limits of what SDs can do. Powered by a new in-house controller that is designed to harmonize the flash memory components and the interface for superior speed, with a PCIe 4.0 interface that’s twice as fast as PCIe 3.0 SSDs and 12X faster than Samsung SATA SSDs5, every component of this NVMe SSD is manufactured by Samsung for performance that lasts. High performance SSDs usually require high performance thermal control. That’s why to ensure stable performance, the 980 PRO uses nickel coating to help manage the controller"s heat level and a heat spreader label to deliver effective thermal control of the NAND chip. Designed for hardcore gamers and tech-savvy users, the 980 PRO memory card offers high-performance bandwidth throughput for heavy-duty applications in gaming, graphics, data analytics, and more. It"s fast at loading games, so you can play more and wait less. The Samsung 980 PRO also comes in a compact M.2 2280 form, which can be easily plugged into desktop PCs and laptop computers, and due to its size and optimized power efficiency, it’s ideal for building high-performance computing systems. Performance measurements are based on IOmeter 1.1.0. The write performances were measured with Intelligent TurboWrite technology being activated. The sequential write perform. To maximize the performance of the 980 PRO, please check whether your system supports PCIe 4.0 at the Intel or AMD website. Results are based on a comparison with Samsung PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs and SATA SSDs. 5Test system configuration: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor [email protected], DDR4 2666MHz 16GBx2, OS-Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Chipset-ASUS-X570-ROG CROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA.
