For laptop: needs a heat sink to reduce temperature, or a good cooling

Great hard drive but I only have 1 M.2 slot in my laptop.

Once I got the drive installed in my Dell desktop machine (running WIN 11) it took a lot of effort to update system BIOS and get correct driver to make the system recognize the drive and use it. Also, you have to format the drive, NTFS in my case. Can be used as a boot drive, but I didnt try to switch to it for that. Just using it as high-speed bulk storage space.

I bought this for my Lenovo Ideapad 3 14ada05 laptop. After a painless install of Windows it was running way faster than the original HDD attached to it.

The m.2 is an easy install but if its your first time installing make sure to double check the mothetboards m.2 slots cables/pins as to not put in upside down, my fist time doing this and luckly i didnt mess it up but it is a good note, also was a bit of a hastle to line up the in mobo heat sync but after i got it all in right it ran great with no issues

Although i read this drive does not need rapid mode, samsung will tell you that magician software works with all smasung drives. They leave out that not every feature is operational with every drive. Two benchmark mark tests, with performance chosen as the m.2 setting of this drive yielded results far less then my 860 evo 500 gb ssd on a i7 4770k. i dont get it. By the way, this m.2 drive was tested in my acer nitro 2021 version with the i5 cpu on battery for one test and plugged in for the other. That matters, i think, because performance window in task manager shows the cpu overclocked to 4.1ghz plugged as opposed to 3.2ghz on battery. Thought it would make a difference but made none at all. So i dont know what to say except it works, but not the numbers they say, 3500mb, laughable at best.

This ssd cost me $63. For that price you get one of the fastest ssd! Bought it for Windows, instead of the old sata3 ssd seagete. What a great difference! For the operating system, I recommend everyone!
