We keep several of these drives in both 500 GB and 1 TB sizes. We shoot video for a living and these drives are must-haves for being able to transport and archive footage. Good speeds and great form factor.

I bought this as a means of moving my Lightroom photo library between machines. Problem is that large copies and backups overheats it and then the read/write errors start occurring. Also, long sustained file transfers seem to really bog down which agrees with the other reports of poor performance. This is really unacceptable. Considering I bought a 2TB unit, being unable to trust it for backups and large file transfers renders this pos nearly worthless. This product has certainly taken my opinion of Samsung products down a several notches.

In my business there are always small drives flying around town from office to office and most offer about 100MB/s transfer rates...Which is painful with a TB+ worth of files...This drive is INCREDIBLE! For one, FINALLY people are embracing exFat...In my business there is a tremendous mix of Macs and Windows machines so exFat is ALWAYS the way to go...Now if we can just get rid of the ProRes mouth breathers...DNx files are the video file equivalent of exFat file system...UNIVERSAL!!! Anyhow, transferring to a 10 drive RAID 5 capable of over 1 GB/s this drives performs around 460 MB/s...Fantastic...Over 4x faster than the typical small USB3 drive thats only capable of around 100 MB/s.

Product came and works as described, is noticeably faster than my HDD.

Samsung T5 1TB SSD is great quality and a good amount of storage space, especially for use to backup a laptop.

Samsung T5 SSD 1TB USB 3.1 Absolutely love it. Have had no problems with it. Plugged it in, computer automatically detected it and that was it, could not have been simpler. Can not really comment on the durability of the product, Ive not had anything happen to it so far but it seems well constructed and should be able to take some wear and tear.
